THE ORDINARY AFTERNOON

The house was busy, but everything felt normal. Anthony was in the living room going through a few things on his phone, while Dave had stopped by to talk about some plans for the upcoming week.

A few family members were moving around the house, laughing and talking like they always did.

Amber, however, had been unusually quiet all morning.

Nobody thought much of it at first.

Amber had been under a lot of pressure lately. Between family disagreements, misunderstandings, and everything that had happened over the past few weeks, everyone assumed she simply needed some rest.

But Amber knew something was different.

She had been feeling strange since she woke up.

She looked at herself in the bathroom mirror and took a deep breath.

Amber walked downstairs slowly.
