LARRY CATCHES SHARRA ROMANCING HER EX — AND EXPLODES IN RAGE! 💥
A CINEMATIC DRAMA SCREENPLAY
FADE IN: INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – EVENING
The house is quiet, but tension fills the air. Larry stands near the couch, checking his phone. Bethany watches him carefully as he grabs his jacket.
BETHANY
Where are you going now?
LARRY
I’m going over to Sharra’s house. I need to talk to her about a few things.
BETHANY
Sharra’s house? Again? Why do you keep getting yourself involved in her drama?
LARRY
Because there’s something I need to figure out. I can’t keep wondering what’s going on with her.
BETHANY
Do whatever you want, Larry. But don’t come back complaining if things don’t turn out the way you expect.
LARRY
I’m not looking for an argument. I’m just going to talk to her.
Larry leaves. Bethany watches the door close, worried that the visit will end badly.
EXT. SHARRA’S HOUSE – EVENING
Larry arrives at Sharra’s house. He knocks twice, but nobody answers. He calls her phone, but she doesn’t pick up. Suddenly, he hears laughter and a man’s voice coming from inside.
LARRY
Who’s in there with her?
He tries the door handle. It opens. Larry enters the house and follows the voices toward the bedroom. He slowly pushes the bedroom door open.
INT. SHARRA’S BEDROOM – CONTINUOUS
Larry freezes. Sharra is sitting on the bed with her ex-boyfriend. They are kissing and embracing romantically. Larry watches in disbelief before his expression turns furious.
LARRY
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!
SHARRA
Larry?! What are you doing here?
LARRY
What am I doing here? I came to talk to you, and this is what I walk into?
SHARRA
Larry, listen to me. It’s not what you think.
LARRY
Not what I think? I have two eyes, Sharra! I saw exactly what was happening!
EX-BOYFRIEND
Man, you need to calm down. This has nothing to do with you.
LARRY
You really think I’m going to stand here and listen to you talk to me like that?
EX-BOYFRIEND
You need to leave. You don’t own this house.
LARRY
You don’t tell me what to do.
EX-BOYFRIEND
Then make me.
The ex-boyfriend pushes Larry’s shoulder. Larry shoves him back. The argument quickly becomes a physical fight. A lamp crashes to the floor as Sharra screams and tries to separate them.
SHARRA
LARRY! STOP IT! Both of you, stop!
The men struggle near the bed, knocking a small table sideways. Larry strikes the man again before Sharra manages to step between them. Both men breathe heavily, glaring at each other.
LARRY
You think you can disrespect me and get away with it?
EX-BOYFRIEND
Nobody disrespected you! You’re the one who came in here acting like you own the place!
THE CONFRONTATION
SHARRA
How dare you come into my house and start fighting?
LARRY
How dare I? I walked in here and caught you making out with your ex-boyfriend!
SHARRA
You had no right to attack him! You don’t get to decide who I spend my time with!
LARRY
I came here because I wanted an honest conversation with you. Instead, I find you in bed with your ex!
SHARRA
We were kissing, Larry. You saw that. But you don’t know everything that happened before you walked through that door.
LARRY
Then explain it! Go ahead. I’m listening!
Sharra opens her mouth, but no words come out. Larry shakes his head and turns toward the door.
SHARRA
Larry, wait! Please. Just let me explain.
LARRY
Explain what? That he’s your ex? That you still have feelings for him? Or that you were hoping I wouldn’t find out?
EX-BOYFRIEND
She doesn’t owe you an explanation for everything she does.
LARRY
Stay out of this!
Larry clenches his fists, ready to fight again. Sharra grabs his arm and begs him to stop. He finally pulls away, his anger giving way to hurt.
LARRY
You know what hurts the most? I came here thinking we could talk honestly. I thought you respected me enough to tell me the truth. But now I don’t even know what to believe.
SHARRA
Larry, I never wanted things to happen like this.
LARRY
But they did. I’m not staying here another minute.
INT. SHARRA’S HOUSE – HALLWAY – CONTINUOUS
Larry reaches the front door. Sharra follows him, crying, and tries to stop him from leaving.
SHARRA
Please don’t leave like this. We need to talk!
LARRY
We needed to talk before I walked into that bedroom. Now, I don’t know if I can trust a single word you say.
SHARRA
You can’t just walk away without hearing my side!
LARRY
Then tell me why he was in your bedroom, Sharra!
Sharra looks down and remains silent. Larry nods bitterly, opens the front door, and walks outside.
LARRY
Don’t call me until you’re ready to tell me the truth.
The door slams. Sharra stands in the hallway, tears streaming down her face. Her ex-boyfriend appears from the bedroom.
EX-BOYFRIEND
You should have told him I was here.
SHARRA
Don’t you dare put this on me! You were here too!
Sharra sinks onto the couch, burying her face in her hands. Outside, Larry reaches his car and grips the steering wheel, struggling to control his emotions.
LARRY
I trusted you, Sharra.
He starts the engine and drives away.
INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
Bethany is still awake when Larry returns. His shirt is disheveled, and his face shows anger and exhaustion. Bethany immediately stands up.
BETHANY
Larry? What happened to you?
LARRY
Don’t even ask me right now.
BETHANY
How am I not supposed to ask? You look like you’ve been in a fight!
LARRY
Because I have!
BETHANY
What?!
LARRY
I went over to Sharra’s house to talk to her. Instead, I caught her in her bedroom with her ex-boyfriend!
BETHANY
You’re kidding me.
LARRY
I wish I were.
BETHANY
And you fought him?
LARRY
He pushed me, I pushed him back, and things got out of control.
BETHANY
Larry, I told you that going over there was a bad idea.
LARRY
I know what you told me, Bethany!
Larry immediately regrets raising his voice. He sits down and rubs his face. Bethany sits beside him.
LARRY
I’m sorry. I’m just angry. I can’t believe what I saw.
BETHANY
You need to calm down before you do something else you’ll regret.
LARRY
I don’t even know what to think anymore.
BETHANY
Then don’t make any decisions tonight. You need to figure out what you want before you get pulled into more drama.
LARRY
I just wanted the truth.
BETHANY
Sometimes, Larry, the truth hurts more than the lie.
THE FINAL MESSAGE
Larry’s phone suddenly vibrates on the table. A message from Sharra appears on the screen.
“Please answer me. We need to talk.”
BETHANY
Is that her?
Larry reads the message again, then locks the screen without replying. He places the phone facedown on the table.
LARRY
Not tonight.
BETHANY
And tomorrow?
LARRY
Tomorrow, she’s going to tell me the truth. One way or another, I’m finding out what was really going on in that bedroom.
The room falls silent. Larry leans back against the couch, but there is no peace in his eyes. Across town, Sharra is still trying to reach him, while her ex-boyfriend remains inside her house.
The questions Larry left behind are only the beginning of a much bigger confrontation.
