A Marriage • A Secret • A Shocking Arrival
Purnell Joins Larry and Bethany’s Therapy Cruise — But Things Take a Shocking Turn!
Larry and Bethany set off on a therapy cruise hoping to strengthen their relationship and put their endless arguments behind them. But when Purnell unexpectedly joins their trip, their plans begin to unravel.
As Larry struggles to keep a secret hidden, Bethany starts noticing strange looks, nervous conversations, and a mysterious envelope. Before the night is over, she may discover that the biggest problem in her marriage is not what she thought it was.
SCENE 1 — THE UNEXPECTED GUEST
Larry and Bethany arrive at the cruise ship already arguing. Larry asks Bethany to promise they will avoid blame and old arguments, but she reminds him that he often starts the arguments himself. A ship’s horn echoes as couples board, unaware that their peaceful trip is about to become complicated.
Larry checks their reservation while Bethany asks him to put his phone away. Before he can answer, Purnell appears with a suitcase and a wide smile.
Purnell says he booked his own trip and hopes to help them communicate. Bethany is suspicious when she realizes Larry has told him about their therapy sessions. Then Purnell quietly asks Larry, “Did you bring it?” Larry’s smile vanishes, and he claims Purnell means the reservation. Bethany notices the nervous exchange and decides to pay closer attention.
SCENE 2 — A MARRIAGE FULL OF SECRETS
Inside their cabin, Bethany demands to know why Purnell is really there. Larry insists he only wants to help, but Bethany points out how frightened he looked when Purnell arrived.
Larry says he wants peace, while Bethany says she wants honesty. Their argument reveals the deeper problem: they no longer know how to trust each other.
Bethany leaves the cabin. Moments later, Larry receives a message from Purnell: “We need to talk before tonight. She cannot find out from somebody else.” Larry locks his phone, whispering that now is not the time. But the secret is already closing in on him.
SCENE 3 — PURNELL’S ADVICE
Bethany finds Purnell alone in the outdoor lounge and demands answers. Purnell advises her to stop trying to win every argument and to give Larry a chance to explain himself.
Bethany presses him to reveal what he knows, but Purnell says he promised Larry he would let him speak for himself. Hurt and frustrated, Bethany walks away, saying she is tired of being the only person in her marriage who does not know what is going on.
After she leaves, Purnell touches a folded envelope hidden inside his jacket. He came aboard hoping to save a marriage—but now he fears the truth might destroy it.
SCENE 4 — THE FIRST THERAPY SESSION
That afternoon, Larry and Bethany sit with relationship counselor Dr. Harris. Purnell is allowed to join part of the session. Dr. Harris asks each spouse to explain what they need from the marriage without interrupting or accusing the other.
Dr. Harris explains that trust cannot grow when important information is being withheld. Bethany asks what she should do when her spouse says everything is fine but behaves as though something is wrong.
Purnell suggests that Larry needs to say something. Larry sharply tells him not to. When Bethany asks directly if there is anything she should know, Larry answers, “Not today.” She leaves the room, feeling betrayed all over again.
SCENE 5 — THE ENVELOPE
As evening falls, Larry sits alone in the ship’s dining room. Purnell arrives and places the folded envelope beside his plate, reminding Larry that he has had weeks to tell Bethany the truth. Larry fears she may never forgive him if she sees what is inside.
Bethany suddenly appears and hears them discussing secrets and consequences. She demands the envelope. After a tense pause, Larry removes his hand, and Bethany opens it. Inside is a document with her name on it.
Bethany is devastated that Larry planned the trip while hiding something so important. She walks away with the papers, telling him he should have feared losing her trust more than telling the truth. Purnell urges Larry to follow her and finally tell her everything.
SCENE 6 — A MIDNIGHT CONFESSION
Hours later, Bethany stands on the balcony beneath the moonlight, holding the document. Larry approaches and says he loves her, but Bethany reminds him that love without honesty leaves her guessing. He admits he thought he was protecting her by handling the problem alone.
Larry gives Bethany a key to a storage unit. He says it contains something connected to her past—something he discovered before their wedding. Before he can explain, Purnell knocks on the cabin door with an alarming message: someone has found them.
A mysterious woman sends a message saying Bethany deserves to know what Larry did and asks her to question who was at the wedding before she arrived. Bethany answers the woman’s call.
The call disconnects. A smaller vessel approaches the cruise ship. Purnell tells Larry to look outside. Bethany demands to know who is coming aboard.
A shadow appears near the smaller boat’s railing. Someone raises a hand toward the ship. Larry recognizes the figure and whispers three words that leave Bethany frozen.
