SCENE 1: A QUESTION ABOUT SHAYLA

INT. ANTHONY’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON

The room is quiet as Danisha sits on the sofa, looking at her phone. Anthony walks into the living room with a serious expression.

He has been thinking about something that happened between Danisha and Shayla. He stops in front of her, waiting for an explanation.

ANTHONY

Danisha, I want to ask you something. What exactly did you say to Shayla that day?

Danisha looks up at him, confused by his sudden question.

DANISHA

What are you talking about? I didn’t say anything to Shayla. Why are you asking me this?

ANTHONY

Don’t pretend you don’t understand. I want to know what happened between you two.

DANISHA

Anthony, I already told you. I didn’t say anything. Why are you getting angry with me?

Anthony shakes his head and looks away.

ANTHONY

Because I don’t like people hiding things from me. I deserve to know the truth.

Danisha puts her phone down and crosses her arms.

DANISHA

You always think I’m doing something wrong. Why can’t you trust me?

Anthony doesn’t answer immediately. His mind is already focused on another important decision.

SCENE 2: ANTHONY’S DECISION ABOUT KAI

INT. LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Anthony takes a deep breath before speaking again.

ANTHONY

There’s something else we need to discuss. I’ve made a decision about Kai.

Danisha looks directly at him.

DANISHA

What decision?

ANTHONY

I’m going to keep my son, Kai, with me. I want him to stay at my house.

Danisha immediately changes her expression.

DANISHA

What? You want Kai to live with you?

ANTHONY

Yes. He’s my son, and I want to spend more time with him. I hope you don’t have a problem with that.

Danisha stands up from the sofa.

DANISHA

No, Anthony! You can’t just make that decision without asking me.

ANTHONY

I’m not trying to start an argument. I just want my son to stay with me.

DANISHA

And what about me? Have you even thought about how I feel?

ANTHONY

Danisha, this isn’t about you and me. It’s about Kai.

DANISHA

Don’t tell me what this is about! I know exactly what you’re trying to do.

Anthony looks surprised by her response.

SCENE 3: DANISHA REFUSES TO LISTEN

INT. LIVING ROOM — MOMENTS LATER

The conversation becomes more heated.

Danisha begins walking around the room, speaking loudly. Anthony tries to remain calm, but her attitude makes the situation increasingly difficult.

ANTHONY

Listen to me carefully. I am not asking you to fight with me. I just want us to make the right decision for Kai.

DANISHA

Well, my answer is NO! Kai isn’t going anywhere with you!

ANTHONY

You can’t keep making decisions by yourself. I’m his father too.

DANISHA

Oh, really? Now you remember that you’re his father?

Anthony looks at her, clearly offended.

ANTHONY

Watch your words, Danisha. I’m speaking to you respectfully.

DANISHA

And I don’t care! You can’t come here and tell me what to do.

She turns away and picks up her phone. Anthony takes a step forward.

ANTHONY

I’m trying to have a normal conversation with you. Why are you behaving like this?

DANISHA

Because I’m tired of listening to you!

Anthony closes his eyes for a moment, trying to control his frustration.

SCENE 4: ANTHONY LOSES HIS TEMPER

INT. LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Danisha turns back toward Anthony and continues speaking rudely.

DANISHA

You think you can walk into this house and take Kai whenever you want? That’s never going to happen!

ANTHONY

Danisha, enough! Stop shouting at me!

DANISHA

You stop telling me what to do!

Anthony’s anger suddenly takes over. In a moment of poor judgment, he strikes Danisha. The room falls silent.

Danisha steps back, shocked by what has happened. Her eyes fill with tears as she looks at Anthony.

DANISHA

Anthony… did you really just hit me?

Anthony stands frozen. He realizes that his anger has taken the situation far beyond an ordinary argument.

ANTHONY

Danisha, I…

DANISHA

Don’t! Don’t even try to explain yourself!

She moves away from him, holding back her tears.

DANISHA

You were angry because I disagreed with you? Is that why you treated me like this?

Anthony looks down, unable to find the right words.

SCENE 5: DANISHA’S HEARTBREAK

INT. LIVING ROOM — A FEW MINUTES LATER

Danisha sits on the sofa, crying quietly. Anthony remains standing near the doorway. He wants to speak, but Danisha refuses to look at him.

ANTHONY

Danisha, please listen to me. I shouldn’t have done that.

DANISHA

You shouldn’t have done it? Anthony, you just proved that you can’t control your anger.

ANTHONY

I know I made a terrible mistake.

DANISHA

You came here asking me about Shayla. Then you started talking about taking Kai. And when I disagreed with you, you became violent.

Anthony takes a deep breath.

ANTHONY

I was frustrated, but that doesn’t excuse what I did.

DANISHA

I don’t want to hear your excuses anymore.

A tear rolls down Danisha’s cheek.

DANISHA

You could have talked to me. You could have explained what you wanted. But you chose to hurt me instead.

Anthony looks deeply troubled.

SCENE 6: KAI BECOMES THE BIGGEST CONCERN

INT. HALLWAY — EVENING

A few moments later, Kai appears near the hallway. He has heard the argument and looks worried.

KAI

Mom? Dad? What’s happening?

Danisha quickly wipes her tears and looks toward her son.

DANISHA

Nothing, sweetheart. Don’t worry about anything.

Kai looks at Anthony.

KAI

Dad, why are you both shouting?

Anthony kneels slightly to speak to his son.

ANTHONY

Kai, your mother and I had an argument. I’m sorry you had to hear it.

KAI

Are you leaving?

Anthony looks at him.

ANTHONY

No, son. I just wanted to talk about you staying with me.

Kai looks confused.

KAI

But I don’t want you and Mom to fight because of me.

Danisha immediately reaches out and holds Kai’s hand.

DANISHA

You are not responsible for anything, sweetheart. This is an adult matter.

Anthony nods slowly.

ANTHONY

Your mother is right. None of this is your fault.

Kai looks between them, hoping the argument will end.

SCENE 7: ANTHONY REALIZES HIS MISTAKE

INT. LIVING ROOM — LATER THAT EVENING

Kai returns to his room. Anthony sits in a chair, looking at the floor. The earlier anger has disappeared, replaced by regret.

Danisha stands near the window.

ANTHONY

Danisha, I understand that you’re upset with me. I know I crossed a line.

DANISHA

You didn’t just cross a line, Anthony. You broke my trust.

ANTHONY

I will take responsibility for what I did.

DANISHA

Then start by understanding that Kai shouldn’t have to witness these arguments. He deserves peace.

Anthony nods.

ANTHONY

You’re right. We need to handle this differently.

DANISHA

And about Kai, we need to discuss everything calmly. You cannot simply announce a decision and expect me to agree.

ANTHONY

I understand.

Danisha looks at him with disappointment.

DANISHA

I need some time. I don’t want another argument tonight.

Anthony slowly stands.

ANTHONY

I’ll give you space.

SCENE 8: AN UNEXPECTED ENDING

INT. HOUSE — NIGHT

The house becomes quiet.

Danisha sits beside Kai’s bed, gently adjusting his blanket. Kai looks up at her.

KAI

Mom, will everything be okay?

Danisha gives him a reassuring look.

DANISHA

We’ll work things out, sweetheart. You don’t need to worry.

She kisses his forehead and switches off the bedside lamp.

Meanwhile, Anthony stands alone in the living room, thinking about everything that happened.

He looks toward the hallway, realizing that one moment of uncontrolled anger has changed the entire evening.

His phone vibrates.

A message from an unknown number appears on the screen.

Anthony picks up the phone and reads it. His expression suddenly changes.

ANTHONY

What? How is this possible?

He reads the message again, unable to believe what he is seeing.

The camera slowly moves closer to his face.

Whatever the message contains, it seems that the conflict between Anthony and Danisha is far from over.
