THE HOUSE THAT DESTROYED THEIR PEACE

A Cinematic Drama Featuring Wayne, YaYa, Dave, and Amber

HOOK — ONE GIFT, TWO BROKEN HEARTS

The moment Amber stepped inside Wayne’s luxurious house, her smile disappeared.

The beautiful furniture, the elegant decorations, and the expensive lifestyle surrounding Wayne and YaYa made her feel as if she had been living someone else’s forgotten dream. But the worst part wasn’t the house itself.

It was the way Wayne looked at Dave, as if he wanted him to understand that some men knew how to treat their women better than others.

Amber tried to hide her jealousy, but Wayne’s next words would follow her home—and turn a peaceful evening into a battle neither she nor Dave would soon forget.

SCENE 1 — WAYNE’S LUXURIOUS HOUSE

Afternoon sunlight streamed through the enormous windows of Wayne’s house. The driveway was spotless, the entrance looked magnificent, and every corner of the living room reflected comfort and wealth.

Dave and Amber stood near the entrance, looking around in amazement.

AMBER

Her eyes widened as she admired the living room.

“Wow, Wayne! I knew you were doing well, but I had no idea your house looked like this. Everything is so beautiful!”

DAVE

He slowly looked around, trying not to show how impressed he was.

“I have to admit, man, you’ve done really well for yourself. This place looks incredible.”

WAYNE

Wayne smiled proudly, straightened his shirt, and gestured toward the expensive furniture.

“Welcome to my world, brother! You know, when a man decides to take care of his family, he has to think big. I don’t believe in doing things halfway.”

YAYA

Standing beside Wayne, YaYa smiled politely at their guests.

“Come on in. Make yourselves comfortable. There’s plenty of room for everybody.”

AMBER

She glanced at YaYa and then back at Wayne.

“You two must be so happy living here. I can only imagine how much work it took to get everything this nice.”

WAYNE

He chuckled and leaned casually against the back of a sofa.

“Work is part of it, Amber. But a man also has to know what his woman deserves. YaYa deserves to live comfortably. She deserves nice things, peace of mind, and a man who makes sure she never has to wonder whether he appreciates her.”

Amber’s smile slowly faded. She glanced at Dave, hoping he would respond with something reassuring. Instead, Dave kept looking around the room.

DAVE

“Yeah, Wayne. You definitely went all out.”

WAYNE

“Of course! And this is just one part of the story. You should see what else I’ve done for YaYa.”

Wayne paused deliberately, enjoying the attention.

WAYNE

“There’s the house, the car, and a few other surprises. I like seeing my woman happy. When I have something good, I want her to enjoy it with me.”

Amber lowered her eyes. The conversation had begun to feel less like a friendly visit and more like a competition she had never agreed to enter.

SCENE 2 — A COMPARISON AMBER COULDN’T IGNORE

Wayne led everyone toward the large windows overlooking the driveway. YaYa followed him while Dave and Amber stood a few steps behind.

WAYNE

“Look out there, Dave. You see that car? YaYa deserves to ride in something she loves. I wanted to surprise her, so I made it happen.”

YAYA

She laughed softly, a little embarrassed by Wayne’s bragging.

“Wayne, you don’t have to tell everybody every single thing you do for me.”

WAYNE

“Why not? I’m proud of you, and I’m proud to make you happy.”

He turned toward Dave with a confident grin.

WAYNE

“Let me ask you something, brother. What’s the point of having a woman you love if you never find ways to make her feel special?”

DAVE

“I think there are different ways to make somebody feel special. Not everything is about houses and cars.”

WAYNE

“Absolutely. But actions matter, too. Words are easy. Anybody can promise the world. The real question is what you actually do.”

Amber stared at the floor. She remembered the house Dave had given her. At the time, she had been grateful. She had believed that the gift represented a fresh beginning and a future they could build together.

Now, standing in Wayne’s beautiful home, that memory felt different. The house she once appreciated suddenly seemed small beside everything Wayne had given YaYa.

AMBER

She forced a smile.

“Well, Wayne, you certainly know how to make an impression.”

WAYNE

“I try. A woman should never have to look at somebody else’s relationship and wonder why she isn’t receiving the same effort.”

The room fell quiet. YaYa immediately looked at Wayne, recognizing that his words had gone too far.

YAYA

“Wayne, that’s enough. They came here to spend time with us, not to compare their relationship to ours.”

WAYNE

He raised his hands innocently.

“I’m just talking, baby. If people get inspired by what they see, that’s a good thing.”

Dave looked away, his jaw clenched. Amber said nothing, but inside her, resentment was beginning to grow.

SCENE 3 — THE JOURNEY HOME

Later that afternoon, Dave and Amber said goodbye to Wayne and YaYa. Wayne stood at the front door, smiling as they walked toward their vehicle.

WAYNE

“Good seeing you both! Come back anytime. Next time, we’ll have even more to celebrate.”

DAVE

“Thanks for having us.”

AMBER

Her smile looked forced.

“Thank you, YaYa. It was nice seeing you.”

YAYA

“You’re welcome, Amber. Take care.”

As Dave started the vehicle, Amber looked back at Wayne’s house through the window. Wayne was still standing at the entrance, looking completely satisfied with himself.

Amber turned away. For several minutes, neither she nor Dave spoke. The silence became increasingly uncomfortable.

DAVE

Keeping his eyes on the road.

“You were pretty quiet in there. Is something wrong?”

AMBER

“Nothing.”

DAVE

“Amber, I know you. Something is bothering you.”

AMBER

“I said nothing is wrong, Dave. Just drive.”

Dave sighed. He knew that tone. It meant the conversation was far from over.

DAVE

“If this is about Wayne running his mouth, don’t let him get inside your head. He likes showing off. That’s just how he is.”

AMBER

She turned toward him sharply.

“So you noticed it, too?”

DAVE

“Noticed what?”

AMBER

“The way he kept talking about everything he bought YaYa. The house, the car, the expensive things. He made sure we heard every single detail.”

DAVE

“That’s Wayne. He always wants everybody to know what he’s doing.”

AMBER

“And you just sat there listening!”

DAVE

“What was I supposed to do? Start an argument in his living room?”

AMBER

“No. Of course not. You never have to argue when something doesn’t concern you.”

Dave frowned. Amber looked out the window again. The rest of the journey home passed in an uncomfortable quiet.

SCENE 4 — THE HOUSE THAT WASN’T ENOUGH

Evening settled over Dave and Amber’s home. The moment they stepped inside, Amber dropped her handbag onto the sofa and turned toward Dave. Her expression had changed completely.

DAVE

He closed the door behind them.

“Okay, Amber. We’re home now. Tell me what’s really going on.”

AMBER

She folded her arms.

“You want to know what’s going on? Fine. I’m tired of pretending everything is perfect.”

DAVE

“What are you talking about?”

AMBER

“I’m talking about Wayne! I’m talking about what I saw today!”

DAVE

“Wayne? We went to visit our friends. Why are you acting like he did something to you?”

AMBER

“Because he showed me something I can’t stop thinking about!”

DAVE

“And what exactly did he show you?”

AMBER

Her voice rose.

“He showed me what a man can do when he really wants to make his woman happy!”

Dave’s face hardened.

DAVE

“Are you seriously comparing me to Wayne?”

AMBER

“Yes, Dave! I am!”

The words landed between them like a door slamming shut.

AMBER

“You gave me a house, and I appreciated it. I really did. But look at Wayne! Look at what he has given YaYa! He bought her a beautiful house, he gave her a car, and he keeps finding ways to make her feel special.”

DAVE

“I gave you a house because I wanted you to have a home. I wanted us to build a life together. Was that not enough?”

AMBER

“Not when I see what somebody else is doing!”

DAVE

“So now everything I’ve done means nothing because Wayne has more expensive things?”

AMBER

“That’s not what I said!”

DAVE

“That is exactly what you’re saying!”

Amber walked across the living room, struggling to contain her frustration.

AMBER

“You don’t understand how embarrassing it felt to stand there while Wayne talked about everything he had done for YaYa. I was standing beside you, Dave, and I couldn’t help wondering why you never seem to think about doing more for me.”

DAVE

“I do think about you! Every decision I make, I consider our future. But I can’t spend my life trying to compete with Wayne.”

AMBER

“Then perhaps you should have thought about that before giving me a house that doesn’t make me feel special anymore!”

Dave went completely still. For a moment, he l
