nd ) Wayne and Yaya: A Pregnancy, a Hidden Truth, and a Secret That Changes Everything

WAYNE, ANTHONY, AND YAYA
A LIE, TWO FACES
But what frightened him most was not the baby. It was the message he had just discovered on her phone — a message sent by the one person he had trusted like a brother.
And when he finally read the last line, Wayne realized that someone had been lying to him for months.
Someone who knew his darkest secret.
Someone who was standing right in front of him.
SCENE 1 — THE UNEXPECTED NEWS
Rain tapped against the windows. The room was quiet, except for the ticking clock and the nervous breathing of Yaya.
She stood beside the sofa, holding a pregnancy test in one hand. Her other hand rested against her stomach.
When Wayne entered, she immediately looked up.
Her voice cracked. She held out the test. Wayne looked at it. His smile disappeared.
Silence filled the room. For a moment, Wayne couldn’t speak. He had imagined marrying Yaya, buying a house with her, and watching their children run through the garden.
Yaya lowered her eyes.
Yaya opened her mouth, but no words came out. Wayne grabbed his jacket and stormed toward the door.
The door slammed behind him. Yaya sank onto the sofa, covering her face with both hands.
Her phone vibrated. A new message appeared.
Yaya stared at the screen. Then she whispered something that would have destroyed Wayne if he had heard it.
SCENE 2 — THE MAN HE SUSPECTED
Anthony stood near the reception desk, waiting for news about his younger sister, who had been admitted earlier that evening.
He had barely finished speaking to a nurse when Wayne appeared. Wayne’s eyes were red with anger.
Wayne seized Anthony’s jacket and pushed him against the wall.
The words struck Wayne harder than Anthony expected.
Wayne raised his fist, but Anthony caught his wrist. Before either man could move, a familiar voice echoed through the corridor.
Both men turned. Yaya stood several steps away, breathless, her eyes filled with tears.
Yaya looked at Anthony. Anthony’s expression changed. For the first time that night, he looked afraid.
Anthony glanced at Yaya, silently asking her whether she was ready. She nodded.
But before either of them could speak, the hospital lights flickered, and Yaya’s phone began ringing.
SCENE 3 — THE MESSAGE
Wayne noticed the fear on their faces. It wasn’t the fear of two people caught in an affair. It was the fear of people who knew something terrible was about to come to light.
