Shayla Finally Reaches Out for Help

Shayla had spent days pretending that everything was fine, but deep inside, she was struggling to keep herself together.

Her thoughts about Iman continued to haunt her. She could barely sleep, and even the simplest things felt difficult. Eventually, she realized that she couldn’t handle everything alone anymore.

She picked up her phone and called Anthony.

“Anthony, I really need to talk to you,” she said quietly.

“What’s going on?” Anthony asked.

“I’m not okay. I’ve tried to deal with everything myself, but I can’t do it anymore. Please, I need your help.”

Anthony was already dealing with his own problems. Instead of understanding how serious Shayla’s situation had become, he responded with frustration.

“Shayla, I can’t keep getting involved in all of this. You need to figure things out yourself.”

Shayla went silent.

“Anthony, I’m asking you because I really need someone right now.”

“I’m sorry, Shayla. I can’t help you with this.”

The call ended, leaving Shayla staring at her phone with tears in her eyes. She had finally found the courage to ask for help, but the person she trusted had turned her away.

The Pain She Could No Longer Hide

For several minutes, Shayla sat alone without moving. Anthony’s words kept repeating in her mind.

She had already been feeling overwhelmed by everything involving Iman. Now, she felt as though she had nobody she could turn to.

“Why is everything happening to me?” she whispered.

She tried watching television, but she couldn’t concentrate. She picked up her phone several times, hoping someone would call, but nobody did.

At first, she thought she was simply anxious. She tried to calm herself and took a few slow breaths.

Shayla reached for a glass of water, but her hands were shaking. She held the kitchen counter to steady herself.

Suddenly, a sharp pain spread across her chest. She struggled to breathe and tried to reach for her phone.

“Please… somebody help me.”

Before she could make another call, she collapsed onto the floor.

When emergency help arrived, Shayla was rushed to the hospital. The medical team immediately began treating her.

After examining her condition, the doctors confirmed the devastating news: Shayla had suffered a heart attack.

Her condition was serious, and nobody could say with certainty how quickly she would recover.

Anthony Receives the News He Never Expected

Anthony was going about his evening when his phone suddenly rang.

“Anthony, you need to come to the hospital. Shayla is here.”

His expression immediately changed.

“What happened to her?”

“She suffered a heart attack. The doctors are treating her right now.”

Anthony couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“A heart attack? But I spoke to her earlier today!”

Suddenly, their conversation came rushing back to him. He remembered Shayla’s trembling voice and the way she had begged him to listen.

He remembered the words he had used to dismiss her.

“I should have listened to her,” he whispered.

Without wasting another second, Anthony grabbed his keys and rushed to the hospital.

During the drive, he kept thinking about what might have happened if he had simply taken a few minutes to hear her out.

Anthony Sees Shayla in the Hospital

When Anthony finally reached the hospital, he hurried to the reception desk and asked where Shayla was being treated.

A few minutes later, he entered her room.

The sight before him left him speechless.

Shayla was lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical equipment. Her face looked pale, and she appeared completely exhausted.

Anthony slowly pulled a chair beside her bed.

“Shayla… I’m here.”

After a few moments, her eyes slowly opened.

“Anthony?” she whispered.

“Yes, it’s me.”

He reached for her hand, struggling to hold back his tears.

“I’m so sorry,” he said. “You called me because you needed help, and I turned you away. I should never have done that.”

Shayla looked at him silently before tears began rolling down her cheeks.

“I didn’t know who else to call,” she whispered. “I felt like I was falling apart, and I thought you would understand.”

Anthony lowered his head.

“You shouldn’t have had to face all of this alone.”

Shayla Finally Reveals What She Has Been Hiding

After a long silence, Shayla began explaining how deeply everything involving Iman had affected her.

She admitted that she had tried to move forward, but the memories kept returning. She had been hiding her pain because she didn’t want anyone to think she was weak.

“I kept telling everybody that I was fine,” she said. “But the truth is, I haven’t been fine for a long time.”

Anthony listened without interrupting her.

For the first time, he understood that Shayla wasn’t simply asking him to solve her problems. She needed someone who would take her feelings seriously and stand beside her when life became difficult.

“I’m not going to turn my back on you again,” Anthony promised. “We’ll take things one day at a time.”

Shayla gently squeezed his hand.

But just as Anthony thought she had told him everything, she suddenly looked toward the hospital room door.

Her expression changed.

“Anthony, there’s something else you need to know,” she whispered.

“What is it, Shayla?” he asked.

She hesitated, glancing nervously at the hallway.

“Before I collapsed, someone called me. And what that person told me about Iman…”

She stopped speaking as the door suddenly opened.
