ati ) Bethany hides a shocking secret from Sharra, but a mysterious man exposes the truth about her mother, her father, and a dangerous past.

Instead, it ended with a stranger stepping out of a black car and telling Sharra one sentence that changed everything she believed about her mother.
And the most frightening part?
Bethany already knew who he was.
SHARRA
Tears streamed down her face, but she refused to wipe them away.
Her anger was stronger than her pain.
She stood inches away from Bethany.
SHARRA
“You did this to my mother!”
Bethany stared at her silently.
Her face was calm, but her eyes revealed something Sharra didn’t understand.
Fear.
SHARRA
“You told the police where she was hiding!”
She stepped closer.
“You knew exactly where my mother was, and you gave them her location!”
Bethany slowly shook her head.
BETHANY
“Sharra, you don’t know the whole truth.”
Sharra laughed bitterly through her tears.
SHARRA
“The whole truth?”
She pointed toward the door.
“My mother is sitting in a jail cell because of you!”
Bethany looked away.
SHARRA
“You ruined her life!”
Bethany finally looked back at her.
BETHANY
“I was trying to save her.”
Sharra froze for a second.
Then her anger returned.
SHARRA
“Save her?”
She pushed Bethany hard.
“You call sending the police after her saving her?”
Bethany stumbled backward.
She said nothing.
SHARRA
“You’ve always hated my mother!”
Bethany’s expression suddenly changed.
BETHANY
“You are wrong.”
SHARRA
“Then tell me why you did it!”
Bethany opened her mouth.
But no words came.
Sharra stared at her.
SHARRA
“Exactly.”
Bethany turned away.
She walked quickly toward the hallway.
SHARRA
“Where are you going?”
Bethany didn’t answer.
She disappeared into another room.
Sharra shouted after her.
SHARRA
“Yes! Go!”
Her voice cracked.
“Because you have no answer!”
For several seconds, the house became completely silent.
Then Sharra heard footsteps.
Bethany returned.
But this time, she was holding something in her hand.
Sharra’s face went pale.
A weapon.
SHARRA
“Bethany…”
She slowly backed away.
“Put that down.”
Bethany kept walking.
Her expression was serious.
BETHANY
“Sharra, listen to me.”
SHARRA
“Don’t come any closer!”
BETHANY
“I am not going to hurt you.”
SHARRA
“Then why are you holding that?”
Bethany glanced toward the window.
Something outside had caught her attention.
BETHANY
“You need to leave this house.”
SHARRA
“What?”
BETHANY
“Now.”
SHARRA
“You’re crazy.”
Bethany took one step forward.
Sharra immediately turned and ran.
BETHANY
“Sharra! Stop!”
Sharra ran down the street.
Her breathing became heavier.
She looked over her shoulder.
Bethany was still following.
The weapon was still in her hand.
SHARRA
“Stay away from me!”
She ran faster.
Then suddenly—
A black car slammed on its brakes across the street.
Sharra stopped.
Her entire body went still.
The driver’s door opened slowly.
A man stepped out.
He was tall.
Older.
Calm.
Too calm.
Sharra stared at him.
The anger disappeared from her face.
Fear replaced it.
SHARRA
“No…”
Bethany stopped several feet behind her.
The color drained from Bethany’s face.
She knew him.
The man looked directly at Sharra.
Then he smiled.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“You look exactly like your mother.”
SHARRA
“Who are you?”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“Someone your mother spent years trying to keep away from you.”
SHARRA
“Bethany… who is he?”
Bethany didn’t answer.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“Your mother never told you about me?”
SHARRA
“No.”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“Of course she didn’t.”
He stepped closer.
“She wanted you to believe she was protecting you.”
SHARRA
“Protecting me from what?”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“From me.”
Sharra looked between the man and Bethany.
SHARRA
“What does he mean?”
Bethany finally lowered the weapon.
BETHANY
“Sharra, listen carefully.”
SHARRA
“Why should I listen to you?”
BETHANY
“Because I have been trying to tell you the truth.”
SHARRA
“Then tell me!”
Bethany looked at the mysterious man.
BETHANY
“Your mother wasn’t arrested because I wanted to punish her.”
Sharra stared at her.
“I gave the police her location because I knew he was looking for her.”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“She always was clever.”
BETHANY
“Don’t talk about her.”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“You still protect her after all these years?”
Sharra’s confusion grew.
SHARRA
“Who is he?”
BETHANY
“I don’t know what he told your mother.”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“She knows exactly who I am.”
SHARRA
“Tell me who he is!”
Bethany’s eyes became wet.
BETHANY
“He is the reason your mother disappeared.”
SHARRA
“What did you do to her?”
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“Nothing she didn’t bring upon herself.”
Bethany raised the weapon again.
BETHANY
“Don’t move.”
The man stopped.
But he didn’t look frightened.
Instead, he smiled.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“You still haven’t told her about that night.”
Bethany’s hand began to shake.
Sharra noticed.
SHARRA
“What night?”
Bethany looked at her.
For the first time, Sharra saw genuine terror in Bethany’s eyes.
The mysterious man reached into his coat.
Bethany immediately stepped forward.
BETHANY
“Don’t!”
But the man pulled out an old photograph.
He held it toward Sharra.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
“Ask her.”
Sharra slowly took the photograph.
She looked down.
Her mother was standing in the picture.
She looked younger.
Happy.
But there was someone standing beside her.
Bethany.
SHARRA
“That’s you.”
SHARRA
“You knew my mother before all of this?”
BETHANY
“Yes.”
SHARRA
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
BETHANY
“Because your mother begged me never to.”
Sharra turned the photograph over.
There was handwriting on the back.
A date.
And beneath it, four words:
“THE NIGHT EVERYTHING CHANGED.”
SHARRA
“What happened that night?”
BETHANY
“Something that should have stayed buried.”
SHARRA
“What does that mean?”
