Lauren returned home early from what was supposed to be a day-long trip. An unfamiliar luxury sports car stood near the entrance, and faint laughter drifted from the back patio.

Yaya grabbed her designer handbag and hurried toward the side exit, desperate to escape the chaos.

Wayne assumed she was going upstairs to pack her bags. Instead, Lauren walked down the central corridor toward his private study—a room he always kept locked.
