WHEN JEALOUSY TURNED INTO A DANGEROUS GAME
AMBER’S FRUSTRATION
Sometimes, the most dangerous man in a relationship is not the one who raises his voice, but the one who stays silent while secretly planning his revenge.
Amber thought her husband, Dave, would protect their marriage when she told him about Anthony’s repeated phone calls. Instead, his reaction left her questioning whether he cared about her at all. But Amber had no idea that Dave was already preparing a move that could turn her complaint into a violent confrontation.
SCENE 1 — AMBER’S FRUSTRATION
INT. AMBER AND DAVE’S HOUSE — LATE AFTERNOON
Amber stands beside the living room window, her phone pressed against her ear. Frustration is written all over her face. She has been thinking about Anthony’s repeated calls and finally decides Dave needs to know.
AMBERDave, I need to talk to you about something. Anthony has been calling me again and again, and honestly, I don’t understand what he wants from me.
Dave sits comfortably on the couch, barely changing his expression.
DAVEOkay. So what do you want me to do about it?
Amber looks stunned by his casual response.
AMBERWhat do you mean, what do I want you to do? He’s another woman’s husband, and he keeps calling your wife. Don’t you think that’s something you should be concerned about?
Dave looks down at his phone and casually scrolls through the screen.
DAVEAmber, you’re making this sound like a bigger problem than it needs to be. If you don’t want to talk to him, just don’t answer his calls.
AMBERThat’s your answer? Another man keeps contacting your wife, and you don’t even want to know why? Don’t you have any objection to Anthony calling me repeatedly?
DAVEI trust you. Isn’t that what matters?
AMBERTrust is one thing, Dave. But what about respect? Why does Anthony keep calling me? What does he want, and why aren’t you even trying to find out?
DAVEI’ve heard what you said. I’ll deal with it if I need to.
AMBERYou always say that, but nothing ever happens. Sometimes, I honestly feel like you don’t care about me or what happens in our marriage.
Dave says nothing. The silence makes Amber feel even worse.
AMBERFine. Forget I said anything.
She ends the call and lowers her phone. For several seconds, she stands motionless, wondering whether her husband truly understands how uncomfortable Anthony’s behavior has made her feel.
But Dave slowly puts his phone down. His expression changes. The calmness disappears from his face, replaced by cold determination.
DAVE (TO HIMSELF)Anthony, you think you can keep interfering in my marriage without consequences? Let’s see how brave you are when I come looking for answers.
He reaches for his car keys. This time, he has no intention of sitting quietly.
SCENE 2 — DAVE MAKES HIS MOVE
INT. DAVE’S HOUSE — MOMENTS LATER
Dave stands near the front door and makes a phone call. His voice is low, controlled, and serious.
DAVEI need you to send a guard to Anthony’s place. I want someone there before I arrive. Make sure everything is under control, and don’t let anyone interfere in my business.
He ends the call and slips his phone into his pocket. Dave is not interested in another conversation about trust or respect. He wants Anthony to understand that repeatedly contacting Amber has consequences.
However, Dave has no idea that his plan will take an unexpected turn the moment he reaches Anthony’s home.
EXT. ANTHONY’S HOUSE — EVENING
Dave’s vehicle pulls up outside the house. He steps out, straightens his jacket, and walks toward the entrance with a determined expression.
The guard he expected to find is nowhere in sight. Dave frowns and looks around.
DAVEWhere is everybody? I specifically asked for someone to be here.
Before he can make another call, the front door opens. D’Nisha appears, surprised to see Dave standing outside.
D’NISHADave? What are you doing here? Is everything okay?
DAVEI’m looking for Anthony. Is he home?
D’NISHANo, he’s not here right now. He went out, but he should be back later. Is something wrong?
DAVEMaybe you and I should have a little conversation while he’s away.
D’Nisha studies his face, immediately sensing that something is wrong.
D’NISHAWhat kind of conversation?
DAVEA private one. Unless you have something to hide?
D’Nisha does not appreciate his tone, but she steps aside to let him enter. She has no idea that Dave has come with a plan that goes far beyond asking questions.
SCENE 3 — D’NISHA FACES DAVE
INT. ANTHONY’S LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS
D’Nisha sits on the edge of a chair while Dave remains standing. He looks around the room before turning his attention back to her.
D’NISHAYou still haven’t told me why you’re here. If this is about Anthony, you can talk to him when he comes back.
DAVEThat’s exactly the problem. Every time I try to understand what’s happening, Anthony somehow finds another way to involve himself in my life.
D’NISHAAnthony’s personal matters are between him and the people involved. If you have a problem with him, you should discuss it directly with him.
DAVEYou make it sound so simple. Your boyfriend keeps calling my wife, and you expect me to pretend nothing is happening?
D’NISHAFirst of all, don’t come into this house and start talking to me as if I’m responsible for every decision Anthony makes. If he’s calling Amber, take that up with him.
DAVESo you’re telling me you know nothing about it?
D’NISHAI’m telling you that you should speak to Anthony instead of trying to make me answer for him.
DAVEYou know what I think? I think you could stop this entire situation if you really wanted to.
D’NISHAAnd how exactly do you expect me to do that?
DAVETell Anthony to stay away from Amber. Tell him to stop calling her and stop acting like he has a place in my marriage.
D’NISHAI can’t control another grown man’s behavior, Dave. And I’m certainly not going to let you use me to settle your problems with him.
Dave’s jaw tightens. For the first time, he realizes that D’Nisha will not simply agree with everything he says.
DAVEYou might want to think carefully before refusing to help me.
D’NISHAIs that supposed to be a threat?
Dave does not answer immediately. Instead, he moves closer, invading her personal space. D’Nisha steps backward.
D’NISHADave, stay where you are. I don’t like this.
Dave ignores her warning. He suddenly grabs her arm and pulls her toward him. D’Nisha struggles to free herself.
D’NISHALet go of me! What is wrong with you?
Dave leans toward her, attempting to kiss her without her consent. She turns her face away and pushes against his chest.
D’NISHAI said let me go!
She finally pulls her arm free and steps away, breathing heavily. Her eyes are filled with anger and disbelief.
D’NISHAYou come into Anthony’s house, accuse me of things I know nothing about, and now you think you can put your hands on me? Have you completely lost your mind?
DAVEDon’t make this more complicated than it needs to be. I came here to solve a problem.
D’NISHANo. You came here to intimidate me, and you just crossed a line you had no right to cross.
DAVEThen listen carefully. You have two choices. You can convince Anthony to stop contacting Amber, or you can watch this situation become a serious problem for both of you.
D’NISHAAre you blackmailing me?
DAVECall it whatever you want. I don’t care what you call it. I want Anthony out of my marriage, and I expect you to make sure that happens.
D’NISHAYou cannot force me to do anything, Dave. And if you think I’m going to let you scare me into controlling Anthony, you’re making a terrible mistake.
Dave steps toward her again, but D’Nisha immediately raises her hand.
D’NISHADon’t come any closer.
For a moment, neither of them speaks. Then a sound comes from outside. A vehicle has just pulled into the driveway.
D’Nisha turns toward the entrance. Her face changes as she recognizes the sound of Anthony’s car. Dave notices her reaction. A slow, confident smile appears on his face.
DAVEWell, look who’s finally home.
SCENE 4 — ANTHONY WALKS INTO A TRAP
EXT. ANTHONY’S HOUSE — EVENING
Anthony steps out of his car, carrying his phone in one hand. He looks tired after a long day, but his mood changes when he notices Dave’s vehicle outside.
ANTHONYWhat the hell is Dave doing here?
He moves quickly toward the front door. Something about the situation feels wrong, and he has no intention of waiting outside to find out why Dave has come.
INT. ANTHONY’S LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS
Inside, D’Nisha stands several feet away from Dave, visibly upset. Dave notices the door opening but does not move away from her immediately.
Anthony enters. The moment he sees Dave standing so close to D’Nisha, his expression turns furious.
ANTHONYWhat is going on here?
D’Nisha quickly moves toward him.
D’NISHAAnthony, thank goodness you’re home. This man came here looking for you, and when I told him you weren’t here, he started threatening me.
ANTHONYThreatening you? What is she talking about?
DAVEYou should ask your girlfriend what we were discussing.
ANTHONYWhat happened?
D’NISHAHe wanted me to convince you to stop calling Amber. Then he grabbed me and tried to kiss me. When I pushed him away, he threatened to make trouble for both of us.
Anthony’s face darkens. He slowly turns back toward Dave.
ANTHONYYou came into my house, put your hands on my girlfriend, and threatened her because you’re angry about phone calls?
DAVEDon’t act like an innocent man, Anthony. You’ve been interfering in my marriage for too long. I came here to make sure you understood that it ends today.
ANTHONYYou could have called me. You could have confronted me anywhere you wanted. But you chose to come here and disrespect D’Nisha?
DAVEAnd what are you going to do about it?
The question hangs in the air. D’Nisha immediately realizes that Dave is deliberately provoking Anthony.
D’NISHAAnthony, please. Don’t let him turn this into something worse.
But Anthony can barely contain his anger. He looks Dave directly in the eyes.
ANTHONYYou should leave before you do something you’ll regret.
DAVEYou’re going to tell me to leave my own way? In case you’ve forgotten, you’re the one who has been calling my wife.
ANTHONYAnd you’re the one standing in my house, acting like you can do whatever you want to the people around me.
DAVEThen stop me.
Anthony reacts instantly. He throws a punch that sends Dave stumbling backward.
D’NISHAAnthony! Stop!
The confrontation has already exploded.
SCENE 5 — TWO MEN, ONE UNFINISHED SCORE
INT. ANTHONY’S LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS
Dave catches himself against the edge of a table. His face twists with anger. He wipes his mouth, looks at the blood on his fingers, and charges toward Anthony.
DAVEYou think you can hit me and get away with it?
Dave throws a punch of his own. Anthony blocks part of the blow, but the force sends him sideways into a chair. The chair crashes against the floor. D’Nisha rushes out of their path.
D’NISHABoth of you, stop! You’re destroying everything!
Neither man listens. Anthony grabs Dave’s jacket and shoves him away. Dave stumbles, regains his balance, and comes straight back at him.
The two men collide near the ce
