The Photos That Started Everything

Two days ago, shocking wedding pictures of Bethany and Rob suddenly appeared online. In the pictures, Bethany and Rob looked like a newly married couple. They were dressed for a wedding, standing together, and the entire scene looked so realistic that almost everyone who saw the pictures immediately believed the same thing: Bethany and Rob had secretly gotten married.

Larry had been trying to stay calm, but the pictures were slowly destroying his peace. He couldn’t understand why Bethany would hide something so important from him. The more he looked at the photographs, the more questions came into his mind.

Finally, Larry decided that he could not keep everything inside anymore. He walked into the room with his phone in his hand and looked directly at Bethany.

“Bethany, I need you to tell me the truth. Are these pictures real? Did you really marry Rob?”

Bethany immediately became angry. She couldn’t believe Larry was still questioning her after everything she had already explained.

“Larry, how many times do I have to tell you? These pictures are fake!” Bethany shouted.

She pointed toward the phone and explained that someone had used AI technology to manipulate photographs and create an entirely fake wedding scene.

“Someone took our real pictures and changed them. They wanted people to believe that Rob and I got married. They wanted to destroy my reputation and create problems between us.”

Larry remained silent, but the doubt on his face was obvious.

Bethany continued, “Rob is your friend. I consider him like a brother. There is absolutely nothing between us. I would never secretly marry him.”

Her voice became emotional as she looked at Larry.

“I am happy with you, Larry. I don’t want to leave you. I don’t want a divorce. Please don’t let these fake pictures destroy everything we have.”

For a moment, Larry didn’t know what to say. He could see that Bethany was upset, but the photographs still looked real enough to make him question everything.

Larry’s Biggest Question

Larry finally sat down and placed his phone on the table.

“Then explain something to me. Why would someone do this? Why would somebody spend time creating fake AI wedding pictures just to make you look guilty?”

Bethany paused.

“I don’t know yet,” she admitted. “But I know someone wanted to create problems between us.”

Larry rubbed his forehead. He was becoming more confused by the minute.

“The location looks real. The clothes look real. The poses look real. Everything looks real, Bethany.”

“That’s because whoever created them wanted everyone to believe the lie,” Bethany answered.

Larry looked at her carefully.

“Or maybe there is something you’re still not telling me.”

Bethany’s anger exploded.

“I am telling you the truth! Why don’t you believe me?”

She moved toward Larry angrily as if she might hit him, but Larry quickly stepped back.

“Bethany, calm down!”

She stopped and took a deep breath.

“I am going to expose whoever did this,” she said firmly. “And when I do, you’ll finally understand that I was telling you the truth.”

Bethany Names Two Suspects

Larry stared at Bethany.

“Then who do you think is behind this?”

Bethany suddenly became quiet.

“I think there are two possibilities.”

Larry leaned forward.

“Who?”

Bethany slowly answered, “Lent…”

Larry looked surprised.

“Lent?”

Bethany nodded.

“I don’t have proof yet, but the timing feels strange. Lent has been acting differently since the pictures appeared.”

Larry asked, “And the second person?”

Bethany hesitated before saying the name.

“Shara.”

Larry became completely silent.

“Shara?”

“Yes,” Bethany replied. “I’m not saying I have proof. But she knows enough about our lives to understand exactly how much damage these pictures could cause.”

The Message That Changed Everything

Before Larry could say anything else, Bethany’s phone suddenly vibrated.

She looked at the screen.

It was a message from an unknown number.

“You are looking in the wrong direction.”

Bethany’s face immediately changed.

Larry noticed her reaction and asked what had happened. Bethany tried to hide the phone, but Larry saw the message.

Then another message appeared.

This time, there was an image attached.

Larry opened it and froze.

It was one of the same wedding photographs that had already been circulating online. But there was something different about this version.

In the background, near the entrance of the venue, there was a person standing in the shadows.

Larry zoomed in.

Bethany stared at the screen.

“That person wasn’t there.”

Larry looked at her.

“Are you sure?”

“I remember that picture. That person wasn’t there.”

Before Larry and Bethany could figure out who the mysterious person was, Bethany’s phone started ringing.

The name on the screen made both of them stop.

It was Shara.

Larry quietly said, “Answer it.”

Bethany accepted the call.

“Hello?”

There was silence on the other end.

“Shara?”

Finally, Shara spoke.

“Bethany… did you receive the pictures?”

Bethany’s eyes widened.

“How did you know I received them?”

Shara didn’t answer.

Larry moved closer.

Bethany asked again, “Shara, how did you know about the pictures?”

After several seconds of silence, Shara finally said something that made Bethany’s heart sink.

“You don’t know the whole story yet.”

The call suddenly ended.

Bethany slowly lowered the phone.

Larry looked at her.

“Now that’s strange.”

Larry took the phone and looked at the mysterious figure in the photograph again.

The face was still unclear, but something caught his attention.

A watch.

Larry stared at it for several seconds.

“I’ve seen that watch before.”

Bethany immediately asked, “Where?”

Larry couldn’t remember.

Then another notification appeared on Bethany’s phone.

This time, there was no warning.

There was only a private photograph of Larry and Bethany together.

“You should ask Rob what he knows.”

Bethany’s hands began to shake.

Larry looked at the screen and then at Bethany.

Larry slowly looked toward Bethany.

Bethany nodded.
