1. A Morning That Changed Everything
Sometimes, before something big happens in life, everything seems completely normal. An ordinary morning, a small smile, and a few casual conversations… but then suddenly, a sound appears that changes the entire atmosphere.
For Amber, that morning was exactly like that. She had no idea that within a short while, a question would arise in her heart whose answer might reveal several old secrets from her life.
And the strangest part was that the person who was about to change everything had a name… Omni.
2. A Peaceful Morning
The morning was calm and pleasant. Soft light filled the room, and there was a strange sense of peace throughout the house. Amber and Dev were talking to each other in a normal and friendly way.
There were faint smiles on both their faces. Their conversation had the familiarity of two people who had known and understood each other for a long time. Amber was relaxed, while Dev smiled as he looked at her.
Amber looked at Dev, and a small smile appeared on her face as well. For a few moments, the world seemed completely simple.
But peace often lasts only until an unexpected sound comes along to break it.

The sound of the doorbell suddenly broke the silence of the house.
Dev looked at Amber and then got up and walked toward the door.

When Dev opened the door, Omni was standing outside. She was wearing a modern and stylish outfit, and there was a confident smile on her face.
“Oh, Omni… you came.”
Dev stepped aside and gestured for Omni to come inside. Omni entered the house and casually spoke with Dev.
Amber looked at Omni from a distance.
“Hi.”
Amber’s voice sounded normal, but her eyes stayed on Omni for a moment. There was a hint of surprise on her face. There was a question in her eyes, but she did not ask anything immediately.
Omni arriving so early in the morning was unexpected for Amber. But what bothered Amber the most was something she noticed over the next few moments.
There was a natural familiarity between Dev and Omni. They talked as if they knew each other quite well.
Amber silently watched them.
4. Suspicion Behind a Smile
The peace that had been on Amber’s face only moments earlier slowly began to disappear. She tried to convince herself that perhaps she was simply overthinking.
“Omni probably came here only for work,” Amber thought to herself.
But then something Dev said caught her attention. Dev laughed at something Omni said.
Amber’s smile disappeared.
Feelings of insecurity and suspicion began to rise inside her. She remembered that Dev’s behavior had not been as warm as before lately. Maybe he was simply busy. Maybe Amber was thinking too much.
But sometimes the heart notices things that the mind keeps trying to ignore.
Amber looked at Omni again. Omni seemed completely relaxed.
And that created another question in Amber’s mind:
“Why did Omni need to come here so early in the morning?”
5. “I Need to Talk to You Privately”
Amber remained quiet for a while. She did not want to create a scene in front of Omni. She controlled her emotions and then quietly called Dev.
“Dev… I need to talk to you privately.”
Dev looked at Amber’s face and immediately understood that something was wrong. He went with Amber into another room.
As soon as the door closed, Amber took a deep breath.
“Dev, I’m not directly accusing you… but something feels strange to me.”
“Why did Omni come here so early? And why do you two seem so familiar with each other?”
Dev looked at Amber in surprise.
“Amber, you’re misunderstanding the situation. Omni came only for work. There is nothing like that between us.”
Amber looked at Dev sadly.
“Maybe I’m overthinking… but lately you haven’t been as warm with me as you used to be.”
“And seeing the two of you together today made me wonder if there is something you haven’t told me.”
Dev listened to Amber seriously. He tried to explain the situation.
“Amber, you are the most important part of my life. The relationship between Omni and me is purely professional.”
Amber said nothing.
She continued looking into Dev’s eyes, as if searching for some hidden truth behind his words.
6. The Sound That Changed Everything
Dev was about to say something else when suddenly, a sound came from outside as if something had fallen.
THUD!
Amber and Dev both became completely silent for a moment.
They looked at each other.
A new sense of fear appeared on Amber’s face.
“Dev… did Omni hear our conversation?”
Dev immediately looked toward the door.
For a few seconds, there was complete silence outside.
Then they heard faint footsteps coming from the hallway.
One… two… three steps.
It sounded as if someone was deliberately walking away from the room.
Dev reached toward the door to open it, but Amber stopped him.
“Wait… listen first.”
Both of them listened carefully again.
There was no sound now.
But Amber had become convinced that something had definitely happened.
7. Did Omni Really Come Only for Work?
Dev slowly walked out of the room. Amber followed behind him.
Omni was nowhere to be seen in the lounge.
There was a cup on the table, and right beside it was a small envelope.
Dev stopped.
Amber’s eyes also went straight to the envelope.
“What is this?”
Dev picked up the envelope. There was only one name written on it:
AMBER
The color seemed to drain from Amber’s face.
Dev moved his finger toward the envelope to open it, but before he could do so, Omni’s voice came from the hallway.
“Dev… don’t open that envelope.”
Amber slowly looked toward Omni.
The relaxed smile that had been on Omni’s face earlier was gone.
A deep silence filled the room.
Amber looked at the envelope, then at Dev, and finally at Omni.
Only one question kept running through her mind:
“If everything was purely professional… then why is this envelope addressed to me?”
The envelope was still closed in Dev’s hand.
Omni stood silently.
And for the first time, Amber felt that perhaps everything she had seen that morning was only a small part of the real story.
But what was inside the envelope?
Had Omni really come only for work? Was Dev hiding something from Amber? Or was there a third secret that had remained hidden from everyone?
Amber slowly reached toward the envelope…
And just as her finger was about to touch it—
Omni said something that made Amber feel as if the ground had disappeared beneath her.
“Amber… if you read this letter, you will discover a truth about Dev that he has never told you.”
Amber’s eyes widened.
Dev looked at Omni.
