A Silent Room and a Sudden Change of Decision

An unsettling silence filled the room, as if even time itself had stopped. Outside the window, the night was growing darker, but Dinisha’s eyes remained fixed on Anthony’s face.

Only a few moments earlier, she had learned about the divorce papers. But things were not the way Anthony had told her.

What shocked Dinisha the most was that Amber had not been given ten percent of the share. She had been given a full thirty percent.

Anthony remained silent. There was a strange heaviness in his silence, as if he knew something that could destroy everything if he said it out loud.

Dinisha noticed that Anthony was avoiding her eyes. Somehow, that made her even more uneasy.

The Promise of Only 10 Percent

The conversation from a few days earlier suddenly came rushing back into Dinisha’s mind. Anthony had clearly told her that Amber would receive only ten percent after the divorce.

Dinisha had believed him. Anthony had even made the same condition clear in front of Amber.

Amber had not argued at the time. She had silently looked through the papers and simply said, “Okay.”

But now everything had changed. Thirty percent… It was not a small difference from ten percent. There had to be a much bigger reason behind such a decision.

Dinisha looked at Anthony.

“If you had already decided to give her only ten percent, then why did you change your decision at the last moment?”

Instead of answering, Anthony lowered his eyes.

An Old Key

Suddenly, Anthony reached into his pocket. A few seconds later, he pulled out a small, old key.

The key was rusty, and there was a strange symbol engraved on it. Dinisha had never seen it before.

Anthony looked at the key, then at Dinisha. For the first time, she saw a seriousness in his eyes that sent a wave of fear through her.

“What you know about Amber right now… is only a small part of the real story.”

Several questions immediately filled Dinisha’s mind. What exactly had been hidden between Anthony and Amber?

Was the key to a house? A safe? Or perhaps a place where a secret had been buried for years?

Anthony gave her no explanation. He simply closed his fist around the key and walked toward the door.

Amber’s Silence

Dinisha decided that she would speak to Amber herself. Anthony might refuse to answer, but perhaps Amber would finally tell her the truth.

She immediately headed toward Amber’s room, but the door was already open. The room was empty.

There was only one envelope lying on the table. Dinisha’s name was written on it.

Dinisha stood there for several moments. She picked up the envelope, but before opening it, her hands began to tremble.

Why had Amber left this letter for her? And if the letter was so important, why had she written, “Don’t open it yet”?

Dinisha placed the envelope back on the table. At that exact moment, she heard footsteps outside.

She turned around… but there was no one outside the door.

There was only a small object lying on the floor.

It carried the same symbol… the exact symbol engraved on Anthony’s old key.

The Real Truth Behind the Divorce

For the first time, Dinisha realized that this might not have been an ordinary divorce at all. There was something between Anthony and Amber that had never been written in the papers.

If this was simply about property or money, why would Anthony suddenly increase Amber’s share from ten percent to thirty percent?

She took out her phone and called Anthony. His phone was switched off.

Then she received a message from an unknown number.

Dinisha’s heart began to race. At the end of the message, there was one more sentence:

Meanwhile, Anthony hurried out of the building. He had barely reached his car when his phone began to ring.

The screen showed an unknown number. Anthony answered the call, but there was nothing but silence on the other end.

A few seconds later, a message arrived.

Anthony’s face suddenly went pale. He immediately turned around and looked back toward the building.

Then he opened the second message.

The phone nearly slipped from Anthony’s hand. He realized that someone had found a way to reach Dinisha.
