SCENE 1 — BETHANY’S LONELY MARRIAGE

Evening. Bethany sits alone on the living room sofa. The house is quiet, and the untouched dinner has gone cold. She waits for Larry.

Larry finally walks in, looking at his phone. He barely glances at her.

BETHANY: “Larry, can we talk for a minute?”

LARRY: “Not tonight, Bethany. I’ve had a long day.”

BETHANY: “You always have a long day. We barely speak anymore. When was the last time you sat beside me and asked how I was feeling?”

LARRY: “Please don’t start another argument.”

BETHANY: “I’m not trying to argue! I’m trying to save our marriage.”

LARRY: “Maybe you should find something else to do instead of worrying about me all the time.”

Bethany fights back tears. “I never thought loving my husband would make me feel so alone.” Larry walks upstairs without answering. But Charlotte has already noticed the cracks in their relationship.

SCENE 2 — CHARLOTTE’S DANGEROUS ADVICE

The following afternoon, Charlotte finds Bethany in the kitchen with untouched coffee.

CHARLOTTE: “You look exhausted. Did Larry upset you again?”

BETHANY: “He barely speaks to me anymore. I feel like I’m living with a stranger.”

CHARLOTTE: “Then why are you still wasting your life with him? Divorce Larry and find someone who actually appreciates you.”

BETHANY: “Divorce him? Charlotte, that’s a huge decision.”

CHARLOTTE: “What about Matt? He respects you, listens to you, and wants to spend time with you.”

BETHANY: “Matt has been kind to me, but I don’t know him well enough to think about marriage.”

Charlotte pretends to care about Bethany’s happiness, but she has another intention. Bethany’s valuable property could open the door to a fortune. Charlotte isn’t guiding her toward freedom—she’s guiding her into another trap.

SCENE 3 — CHARLOTTE AND MATT’S SECRET AGREEMENT

Later that evening, Charlotte visits Matt’s luxurious house. He stands by the window with a folder of documents.

MATT: “Did you speak to Bethany?”

CHARLOTTE: “Yes. She’s beginning to question her marriage. I told her she deserves someone better than Larry.”

MATT: “And did you mention me?”

CHARLOTTE: “Of course. She trusts me, and that’s what makes this work.”

MATT: “We need to be careful. Bethany can’t suspect that we’re interested in her property.”

CHARLOTTE: “Once she divorces Larry and gets closer to you, things will become much easier.”

MATT: “What matters is getting the right documents signed. Without those, we have nothing.”

Charlotte asks what happens if Bethany discovers their plan. Matt promises to keep their secret. But when Charlotte turns away, he hides a separate envelope—something connected to Larry that even Charlotte doesn’t know about.

SCENE 4 — MATT’S EXCLUSIVE EVENT

A few days later, an elegant event hall glows with chandeliers. Bethany arrives in a beautiful evening dress, and Matt welcomes her warmly.

MATT: “Bethany, you look absolutely beautiful.”

BETHANY: “Thank you. I’ve never been to an event like this before.”

MATT: “You shouldn’t have to beg anyone for attention. You deserve to be appreciated.”

Bethany feels noticed for the first time in a long while. Across the room, Charlotte watches with satisfaction. Then a message flashes on Matt’s phone: THE DOCUMENTS ARE READY. LARRY WANTS HIS SHARE.

Bethany notices Matt’s sudden worry, but he hides it and leads her to the dance floor. She begins to believe a new start is possible—unaware that Larry may be at the center of the scheme.

SCENE 5 — LARRY’S UNEXPECTED WARNING

The next morning, Larry sits in the kitchen looking unusually serious.

LARRY: “Where were you last night?”

BETHANY: “I went to an event with Matt. Charlotte invited me.”

LARRY: “Matt? Why are you spending time with him?”

BETHANY: “You barely speak to me, Larry. You don’t ask where I am, and you don’t care how I feel.”

LARRY: “Stay away from Matt. You don’t know what kind of man he is.”

BETHANY: “And you think I know what kind of husband you are?”

Larry’s eyes reveal fear, not anger. He tries to explain, but his phone rings. His face turns pale, and he rushes out. Bethany wonders whether his coldness has been hiding something far more dangerous than an unhappy marriage.

SCENE 6 — THE SECRET DOCUMENTS

That afternoon, Bethany visits Charlotte’s house. While waiting, she notices a cabinet left slightly open and finds a thick folder bearing her name.

Inside are records of her house, land, and inherited assets. The pages mention ownership transfers, financial arrangements, and signatures.

BETHANY: “Why does Charlotte have my property records?”

She turns to the final page and freezes. Larry’s signature is unmistakable.

BETHANY: “Larry?”

Footsteps sound on the stairs. Bethany photographs the document and returns the folder to the cabinet. Charlotte enters and notices that Bethany looks pale.

CHARLOTTE: “Are you feeling all right?”

BETHANY: “I’m fine. I just remembered something I need to do.”

Outside, Bethany checks the photograph again. Her husband may have been involved in a plan against her—but why, and for how long?

SCENE 7 — MATT REVEALS A SHOCKING TRUTH

That evening, Bethany arrives at Matt’s house and places the photograph on the table.

BETHANY: “I found these documents at Charlotte’s house. My property is listed in them, and Larry’s signature is right here.”

MATT: “I was hoping you wouldn’t find out this way.”

BETHANY: “So you knew? Was everything a lie?”

MATT: “At first, I agreed to help Charlotte. I knew about the property, and I believed there was money to be made. I won’t pretend I was innocent.”

BETHANY: “You used my loneliness against me.”

MATT: “Yes. And that’s something I can’t undo.”

Matt reveals that Charlotte didn’t bring the property into the arrangement. Someone approached her first. A second document contains Larry’s signature and another name.

BETHANY: “They were waiting for me to divorce Larry…”

MATT: “And someone was making sure you would.”

Bethany realizes Charlotte’s advice, Matt’s attention, and Larry’s warning may all be connected. But if Larry wanted her property, why did he warn her about Matt?

SCENE 8 — THE PHONE CALL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

BETHANY: “Who else knows about this?”

MATT: “Charlotte. Larry. And the person whose name is on that page.”

BETHANY: “I want to confront them all.”

MATT: “If you confront them without knowing everything, they’ll destroy the evidence. Make copies, and don’t sign anything before an independent lawyer checks it.”

Matt’s phone rings. An angry voice demands to know why Bethany has seen the documents.

VOICE: “You promised you would keep Bethany away from the documents!”

MATT: “The plan has changed.”

VOICE: “If she knows about Larry’s signature, she probably knows about the original agreement, too.”

BETHANY: “What original agreement?”

Matt ends the call and admits that Larry has the missing document. Bethany heads for the door, determined to confront her husband.

MATT: “The person who started this plan isn’t Charlotte. And it isn’t Larry.”

Matt turns his phone toward her, revealing a photograph. Bethany stares at the face in disbelief.

BETHANY: “No… this person would never betray me.”

MATT: “That’s what they wanted you to believe.”

Her phone vibrates with a message from an unknown number: “STOP ASKING QUESTIONS. YOUR HUSBAND ISN’T THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS YOUR SECRET.”

Bethany looks at Matt. He has received the same message. Someone has been watching them—and knows far more about Bethany than either of them expected.
