nd ) She Blamed Anthony for Something He Never Did — But Her Real Secret Was Far More Dangerous

The Slap Echoed
Through The Hallway.
For a second, nobody moved.
Anthony stood frozen, one hand against his cheek.
Dave was breathing heavily.
Amber stood frightened… hiding a secret.
SCENE 1 — THE HALLWAY — MORNING
Sunlight spilled through the windows of the quiet house.
Anthony was standing near the hallway, checking something on his phone. Then a bedroom door opened and Amber stepped out.
She was dressed neatly, her hair perfectly arranged. Anthony looked up. For a moment, he simply stared.
Amber noticed and gave him a small smile. Then she suddenly reached behind her back.
The zipper of her shirt was open. She turned toward Anthony.
AMBER: Anthony… can you zip it up for me?
ANTHONY: Uh… sure.
Amber turned around. Anthony carefully reached for the zipper. His fingers touched the metal pull.
He began pulling it upward. Nothing unusual. Nothing inappropriate. Just a simple favor.
But suddenly—Amber jerked away.
ANTHONY: What happened?
Amber didn’t answer. She grabbed her bag and hurried down the hallway.
Anthony watched her disappear. Confusion filled his face.
He had no idea that those few seconds had just changed his life.
SCENE 2 — DAVE’S ROOM — MOMENTS LATER
Dave was sitting on the edge of his bed. Amber rushed inside. Her breathing was fast.
DAVE: Amber? What’s wrong?
She looked at him. Her eyes appeared wet.
AMBER: It’s Anthony.
DAVE: What did he do?
Amber lowered her eyes. She seemed hesitant.
That hesitation made Dave even more worried.
AMBER: I asked him to zip my shirt.
DAVE: And?
AMBER: He tried to get too close to me.
Silence. Dave stared at her. His jaw tightened.
DAVE: Are you serious?
Amber nodded slowly.
AMBER: I pulled away and left.
Dave’s anger exploded. He stormed out of the room.
Amber remained behind.
The moment Dave disappeared—the sadness vanished from her face.
She looked completely calm. Almost satisfied.
SCENE 3 — THE HALLWAY
Anthony was still standing where Amber had left him. He was confused.
Then Dave appeared. His footsteps were heavy.
ANTHONY: Dave—
The slap came without warning.
Anthony staggered backward.
ANTHONY: What the hell?!
DAVE: How dare you go near Amber!
ANTHONY: I didn’t do anything!
DAVE: Don’t lie to me!
ANTHONY: I’m not lying!
Dave shoved him. Anthony stumbled into the wall.
ANTHONY: She asked me to zip her shirt!
DAVE: And you thought that gave you the right to touch her?
ANTHONY: I was helping her!
Dave swung again. Anthony blocked the punch. Then he pushed Dave away.
Within seconds, the argument became a fight.
Fists flew. Furniture moved. A chair crashed against the floor.
AMBER: Stop!
Amber rushed toward them. Wayne followed.
WAYNE: Dave! Anthony! Enough!
Anthony finally shoved Dave backward. Dave charged again.
Wayne grabbed Dave from behind. Amber grabbed Anthony’s arm.
WAYNE: Stop fighting!
The two men slowly separated.
Anthony’s face was red. His cheek was still burning from the first slap.
ANTHONY: You know I didn’t do anything.
AMBER: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Anthony’s eyes narrowed. For the first time, something felt terribly wrong.
SCENE 4 — LATER
The house had become strangely quiet.
Dave sat alone in the living room. His anger had not disappeared.
Amber sat beside him and gently placed a hand on his arm.
AMBER: I’m sorry this happened.
DAVE: You don’t have to apologize.
Amber leaned against him.
AMBER: I just don’t want you to think I don’t trust you.
DAVE: I trust you.
Amber smiled faintly. That was exactly what she wanted to hear.
Across the room, Anthony stood near the window.
He looked exhausted. Wayne approached him.
WAYNE: Are you okay?
ANTHONY: No.
WAYNE: What really happened?
ANTHONY: Exactly what I said.
Anthony looked toward Amber.
ANTHONY: She asked me to zip her shirt. I did it. Then she ran away.
Wayne frowned.
WAYNE: Why would she lie?
Anthony didn’t answer.
Because he didn’t know. But somewhere deep inside, he had started to suspect that the zipper wasn’t the real story.
SCENE 5 — AMBER’S ROOM — NIGHT
The house was asleep. Amber quietly closed her bedroom door.
She walked to the mirror. For several seconds, she stared at herself.
Then she smiled.
She opened a drawer. Inside was a small notebook.
She took it out. The pages were filled with names, plans, dates and short notes.
She turned to the latest page.
ANTHONY.
Amber stared at it.
Then she drew a line through the name.
Her smile disappeared.
Someone knocked on the door.
DAVE: Amber? Are you awake?
She quickly closed the notebook and hid it beneath her pillow.
AMBER: Yes.
Dave entered. He looked worried.
DAVE: I just wanted to make sure you’re okay.
AMBER: I’m fine.
DAVE: I shouldn’t have hit Anthony.
AMBER: Why are you saying that?
DAVE: Because maybe I misunderstood.
Amber’s face froze for half a second.
AMBER: What are you talking about?
DAVE: I trust you.
Amber smiled. But inside, panic had begun to rise.
If Dave started questioning what happened, everything could fall apart.
SCENE 6 — THE NEXT MORNING
Anthony walked into the kitchen. Dave was already there.
The atmosphere was cold.
ANTHONY: We need to talk.
DAVE: About what?
ANTHONY: Yesterday.
DAVE: I already know what happened.
ANTHONY: No.
Anthony stepped closer.
ANTHONY: You know what Amber told you happened.
DAVE: Are you calling her a liar?
Anthony paused.
ANTHONY: I’m saying you should ask her one question.
DAVE: What question?
ANTHONY: Why did she suddenly pull away before I even finished zipping her shirt?
Dave’s expression changed.
ANTHONY: And ask her why she didn’t scream.
Dave said nothing.
Anthony walked away.
But his words stayed behind.
SCENE 7 — THE FIRST CRACK
That afternoon, Dave found Amber alone. She was sitting in the garden.
DAVE: Amber.
AMBER: Yes?
DAVE: I want to ask you something.
Amber’s smile faded.
AMBER: What?
DAVE: Yesterday… did Anthony actually try to touch you?
Amber stared at him.
For one brief moment, she said nothing.
Then tears appeared in her eyes.
AMBER: You don’t believe me?
Dave immediately felt guilty.
DAVE: That’s not w
