THE DREAM BETHANY NEVER WANTED TO END
HOOK
The phone rang in the middle of the night.
Isaiah stared at the screen.
It was Bethany.
But what she was about to ask him would make him question everything.
Bethany wanted him to come to Atlanta.
She promised money.
She promised to explain everything.
And most importantly, she told him to keep their meeting a secret.
But there was one problem.
None of it was real.
At least, that was what Isaiah believed.
SCENE 1 — PHILLY — LATE NIGHT
Isaiah was lying in bed when his phone suddenly rang.
He looked at the screen and saw Bethany’s name.
He answered immediately.
BETHANY
“Isaiah, I need you to come to Atlanta as soon as possible.”
ISAIAH
“Atlanta? Why? What happened?”
BETHANY
“I can’t explain everything over the phone. Just trust me.”
Isaiah sat up slowly.
Something about Bethany’s voice sounded different.
Serious.
Almost desperate.
SCENE 2 — ISAIAH’S BEDROOM
Isaiah opened his phone and checked the price of a flight.
His face immediately changed.
The ticket was too expensive.
He didn’t have enough money.
He called Bethany again.
ISAIAH
“Bethany, I want to come, but I don’t have enough money for the ticket.”
BETHANY
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll send it to you.”
A few seconds later, Isaiah received the money.
He stared at the screen in disbelief.
BETHANY
“Just come to Atlanta. I’ll explain everything when you get here.”
Isaiah booked the ticket.
SCENE 3 — ATLANTA AIRPORT — DAY
Hours later, Isaiah finally arrived in Atlanta.
He walked through the airport carrying his bag.
Then he saw Bethany waiting for him.
She looked nervous.
BETHANY
“Isaiah.”
ISAIAH
“Bethany, what’s going on?”
Bethany looked around before answering.
BETHANY
“Let’s go somewhere private.”
Isaiah followed her.
He had no idea what Bethany was about to ask him.
SCENE 4 — BETHANY’S HOUSE
Inside the house, Bethany closed the door.
She reached into a drawer and pulled out an envelope.
She handed it to Isaiah.
Isaiah opened it and saw cash inside.
ISAIAH
“What is this?”
BETHANY
“Money. And if you need more, I’ll give you more.”
Isaiah looked confused.
ISAIAH
“Why are you giving me all this?”
Bethany took a deep breath.
BETHANY
“Because I need you to do something for me.”
Isaiah became even more confused.
BETHANY
“But whatever I tell you, you have to keep it secret.”
SCENE 5 — THE SECRET WISH
Bethany looked directly into Isaiah’s eyes.
BETHANY
“I have a wish.”
Isaiah waited.
ISAIAH
“What kind of wish?”
Bethany didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, she stepped closer.
BETHANY
“I need you to make it happen.”
Isaiah swallowed nervously.
ISAIAH
“If it’s within my power, I’ll help you.”
Bethany smiled slightly.
BETHANY
“Good. Then come with me.”
Isaiah followed her down the hallway.
Bethany opened a door.
And then—
SCENE 6 — ISAIAH’S BEDROOM — MORNING
Isaiah suddenly opened his eyes.
He was lying in his own bed.
He looked around.
No Atlanta.
No Bethany.
No envelope.
No money.
No ticket.
Everything had been a dream.
Isaiah sat on the edge of the bed.
ISAIAH
“It felt so real.”
He looked at his phone.
Then he whispered:
ISAIAH
“I wish that dream had been reality.”
But something strange happened next.
His phone started ringing.
FINAL SUSPENSE
Isaiah looked at the screen.
BETHANY.
He answered.
BETHANY
“Isaiah?”
Isaiah froze.
ISAIAH
“Yes?”
Bethany continued.
BETHANY
“Are you still coming to Atlanta?”
Isaiah’s eyes widened.
ISAIAH
“What… did you just say?”
There was a short silence.
Then Bethany spoke again.
BETHANY
“I need you here because I have a wish… and I don’t want anyone else to know about it.”
Isaiah couldn’t speak.
The exact same words from his dream.
He looked at his bedroom door.
His hands started shaking.
Then another notification appeared on his phone.
A MESSAGE FROM BETHANY.
Isaiah opened it.
His face suddenly went blank.
Before he could reply—
Bethany called again.
BUT WHAT WOULD BETHANY SAY THIS TIME?
