SCENE 1 — EARLY MORNING
The house was quiet as the morning sun slowly filled the rooms.
Destiny stood in front of the mirror, getting ready for college.
Her eyes looked tired, and dark circles were visible beneath them.
Duchess
“Destiny, you’re going to be late. Hurry up.”
Destiny
“Mom… can I please take a day off from work today?”
Duchess
“Why?”
Destiny
“I’m just really tired. College has been a lot lately, and I have so many assignments.”
Duchess
“You’re going to college, and you have a part-time job. Both are important. You cannot keep giving up every time things get difficult.”
Destiny forced a small smile, grabbed her backpack, and walked out.
SCENE 2 — COLLEGE
Hours later, Destiny sat inside her college classroom.
The professor was speaking, but Destiny could barely concentrate.
She rubbed her eyes and tried to take notes.
Her phone suddenly vibrated.
A message from her manager appeared:
“Don’t forget your shift this afternoon.”
Destiny stared at the screen before slowly putting her phone away.
She already knew there was no break waiting for her.
SCENE 3 — PART-TIME JOB
The shift felt endless.
Destiny moved from one task to another.
Her feet hurt, and her head was pounding.
She looked at the clock.
There were still hours left.
Destiny quietly took a deep breath and continued working.
By the time her shift ended, she looked completely drained.
SCENE 4 — THAT NIGHT
Destiny entered the house late.
She dropped her bag near the couch and sat down.

“You’re home late again.”
Destiny
“Mom… I’m exhausted.”
Destiny’s eyes became watery.
Destiny
“I can’t keep doing this every day. I have college all day, then I go to work, and when I come home, I still have assignments to finish.”

“I feel like I’m either going to school or working. I don’t even have time to breathe.”
Duchess
“I’m doing this because I want you to have a better future.”
Destiny
“I understand that, Mom. But I’m getting tired.”
SCENE 5 — DESTINY’S BEDROOM
Destiny sat at her desk.
Her laptop was open, and books were scattered everywhere.
She stared at an unfinished assignment.
Her eyes were struggling to stay open.
Destiny
“I just need a little rest.”
She rested her head against the desk.
Within minutes, she fell asleep.
The laptop remained glowing beside her.
SCENE 6 — THE FINAL DAY
That morning, Destiny woke up feeling worse than usual.
She sat on the edge of her bed.
The room spun for a few seconds.
She closed her eyes and waited for the dizziness to pass.
Then she stood up.
She had college.
After college, she had work.
Destiny got dressed and left the house.
At college, she struggled to focus.
Later that afternoon, she arrived at work.
Coworker
“Destiny, are you okay?”
Destiny
“Yeah. I’m just tired.”
SCENE 7 — DUCHESS FINDS DESTINY
That evening, Destiny finally arrived home.
The house was empty because Duchess was still at work.
Destiny slowly walked upstairs, placed her bag on the floor, and collapsed onto her bed.
Within moments, Destiny lost consciousness.
Hours later, Duchess arrived home.
She knocked on the front door.
Duchess
“Destiny! I’m home!”
No answer.
Duchess
“Destiny?”
Duchess used her spare key and entered the house.
She rushed upstairs.
When she opened Destiny’s bedroom door, she froze.
Destiny was lying unconscious on her bed.
Her face was pale, and her body was completely still.
Duchess
“DESTINY!”
Duchess rushed to her daughter and tried to wake her.
Duchess
“Baby, wake up! Please!”
There was no response.
Duchess immediately called for emergency medical help.
SCENE 8 — THE HOSPITAL
At the hospital, doctors rushed Destiny into the emergency room.
Duchess stood outside, terrified.
Duchess
“Doctor, how is my daughter?”
Doctor
“She is stable right now, but she is extremely weak.”
Duchess
“What happened to her?”
Doctor
“She appears to be severely exhausted, both physically and mentally.”
Duchess’s eyes filled with tears.
Doctor
“Constant work, college pressure, lack of proper rest, and emotional stress can take a serious toll on the body.”
Duchess
“Is she going to be okay?”
Doctor
“We’re going to admit her for observation and treatment. She needs proper rest and medical care.”
SCENE 9 — A MOTHER’S REGRET
Duchess slowly entered the hospital room.
She stood beside Destiny’s bed and gently held her hand.
Duchess
“I’m sorry, Destiny.”
Duchess
“I thought I was preparing you for life. I never realized how much you were hurting.”
Destiny remained unconscious.
Suddenly, the doctor returned.
His expression was serious.
Doctor
“Duchess… there’s something else we need to discuss.”
Duchess
“What is it?”
Doctor
“Once Destiny wakes up, there are some questions we need to ask her.”
Duchess stared at the doctor in confusion.
Duchess
“Questions about what?”
Doctor
“We need to find out if there is another source of stress in her life.”
Duchess froze.
Could Destiny’s collapse have been caused by more than just college and work?
