THE BABY NO ONE EXPECTED

LOVE • BETRAYAL • FAMILY SECRETS

SCENE 1 — THE NIGHT EVERYTHING CHANGED

INT. ATLANTA HOSPITAL — NIGHT

The hospital doors burst open. Mariah is rushed inside, pale and trembling. Doctors immediately surround her.

DOCTOR

Get the delivery room ready. She’s in labor.

MARIAH

Labor? What are you talking about?

DOCTOR

You’re about to have a baby. Is the baby’s father available?

Mariah stares at him in disbelief. Her hands tremble as she reaches for her phone and calls Isaiah.

MARIAH

Isaiah, please come. I’m at the hospital. The doctors say I’m about to give birth.

ISAIAH (V.O.)

What? I’m coming. Don’t be afraid. I’m on my way.

SCENE 2 — THE FLIGHT TO ATLANTA

INT. FLORIDA AIRPORT — NIGHT

Isaiah rushes through the airport, booking the earliest flight to Atlanta. Fear fills his eyes as he thinks about his mother’s reaction.

ISAIAH

Please, God. Let me get there in time.

He boards the plane with one thought in his mind: Mariah and the baby must not face this alone.

SCENE 3 — THE PAPERS

INT. ATLANTA HOSPITAL — EARLY MORNING

Isaiah reaches the hospital. A doctor hands him documents that must be signed before the delivery.

DOCTOR

We need you to review and sign these documents.

ISAIAH

Is something wrong with Mariah?

DOCTOR

We’re monitoring her closely. We need to be ready.

Isaiah hesitates. His mother’s disappointment flashes through his mind. Then he sees Mariah reaching for him.

ISAIAH

Whatever happens, I’m here for my child.

He signs the papers and takes Mariah’s hand.

SCENE 4 — THE FIRST CRY

INT. DELIVERY ROOM — MORNING

Mariah fights through the pain while Isaiah holds her hand. Suddenly, a baby’s cry fills the room.

NURSE

Congratulations. You have a beautiful baby.

Isaiah holds the newborn for the first time. Tears roll down his cheeks.

ISAIAH

Hello, little one. I’m your dad. I promise I’ll always try to be there for you.

Mariah smiles through her tears. But outside the room, Isaiah’s phone keeps ringing.

SCENE 5 — BROOKE DISCOVERS THE TRUTH

INT. BROOKE’S APARTMENT — DAY

Brooke waits for Isaiah. Then a photograph appears on her phone: Isaiah holding a newborn beside Mariah.

BROOKE

No… this can’t be happening.

She calls Isaiah again and again, but he doesn’t answer. Old memories suddenly feel like painful lies.

BROOKE

I trusted you, Isaiah. How could you hide this from me?

Her friend arrives and sits beside her, refusing to leave her alone in her darkest moment.

FRIEND

You don’t have to face this alone. I’m here with you.

SCENE 6 — A FAMILY DIVIDED

INT. ISAIAH’S FAMILY HOME — FLORIDA

Isaiah faces his mother, knowing he can no longer hide the truth about the baby.

MOTHER

You should have been honest with everyone.

ISAIAH

You’re right. But I will take responsibility for my child.

His mother looks away, hiding a fear he cannot understand.

MOTHER

Isaiah, there are things about this family that you still don’t know.

SCENE 7 — THE MESSAGE AFTER MIDNIGHT

INT. ISAIAH’S BEDROOM — NIGHT

Isaiah looks at photographs of his newborn when a message arrives from an unknown number.

“You think you know everything about Mariah. Ask her what happened three months before the baby was born.”

Isaiah’s smile disappears. Another message arrives.

“The baby isn’t the only secret she’s keeping from you.”

A photograph appears. Mariah stands beside a man Isaiah recognizes, someone who should never have been part of their lives.

ISAIAH

No… this can’t be real.

SCENE 8 — THE FINAL SECRET

INT. ISAIAH’S BEDROOM — CONTINUOUS

Isaiah calls his mother. She answers, already sounding afraid.

ISAIAH

Mom, who is the man in this photograph?

MOTHER (V.O.)

Whatever that person told you, don’t go looking for him.

ISAIAH

Why? Who is he?

His mother begins to cry. The silence that follows is more frightening than any answer.

MOTHER (V.O.)

The man who raised you is not the man who gave you life.

Isaiah freezes. Before he can ask another question, the call disconnects.

A final message lights up his phone: “Tomorrow, you’ll learn why Mariah was never supposed to have this baby.”

Thunder rolls outside. Isaiah stares at the screen, realizing the birth of his child may have uncovered a secret someone has spent years trying to bury.

TO BE CONTINUED…

The truth is closer than Isaiah thinks. The next chapter will change everything.
