Delicia had been trying to stay strong despite everything she had been dealing with lately. She wanted to believe that her relationship with Iman was finally moving toward a happier future.

He gently squeezed her hand.

“Iman,” she whispered.

“Yes?”

“I want you to marry me.”

Iman looked surprised.

“As soon as you come back home from the hospital, I will marry you,” he said.

Delicia stared at him.

“Are you serious?” she asked.

Iman nodded. “I’ve never been more serious about anything.”

He told her that her health came first and that they would begin planning their wedding after she recovered.

Delicia still had one concern.

“What if you change your mind after I leave the hospital?” she asked.

“I won’t.”
