The Secret Waiting Behind Larry’s Door

SCENE 1 — EARLY MORNING — LARRY’S HOUSE

The morning begins quietly.

Larry stands near the entrance, adjusting his jacket before leaving for work. He checks the time, grabs his bag, and looks back toward the house.

Everything appears completely normal.

LARRY
“I’ll see you later tonight.”

He walks outside and closes the front door behind him.

The sound of his car slowly disappears down the street.

A short while later, Rob arrives.

He stands outside for a moment, looking around as though he doesn’t want anyone to notice him.

After checking the street, Rob quietly enters the house.

Someone is already waiting inside.

SCENE 2 — LATE MORNING — BEDROOM

The bedroom remains quiet as Rob closes the door.

He and the woman sit together, speaking in low voices. The situation is clearly secret, and both understand that Larry knows nothing about Rob’s visit.

The woman looks uncomfortable.

WOMAN
“Rob, maybe we should stop before this gets worse.”

Rob looks at her for a moment.

ROB
“I know Larry can’t find out about this.”

She looks toward the closed door.

WOMAN
“Then why are you still here?”

Rob doesn’t have an answer.

The silence between them becomes uncomfortable.

Neither realizes that Larry’s return will come much sooner than expected.

SCENE 3 — AFTERNOON — OFFICE

Hours pass.

Larry finishes his final task at the office and checks the time.

He closes his laptop and begins packing his things.

His phone is in his pocket, but there are no messages that would warn him about what is happening at home.

LARRY
“I’m done for today.”

Larry leaves the building.

As he drives home, his mind is focused on an ordinary evening.

He has no idea that someone is waiting inside his house.

SCENE 4 — EVENING — THE UNEXPECTED RETURN

The front door opens.

Larry steps inside and places his keys on the table.

He immediately notices how strangely quiet the house feels.

He looks around.

LARRY
“Is anyone home?”

No one answers.

Larry walks farther inside.

Then he notices something unusual near the bedroom.

His expression changes.

He slowly approaches the door and reaches for the handle.

For a moment, he hesitates.

Then he opens it.

Larry suddenly stops.

Rob is inside.

The woman is there with him.

Larry stares at them in disbelief.

Rob immediately stands.

ROB
“Larry, listen to me.”

Larry says nothing.

He simply steps away from the doorway.

His face shows that the shock has turned into anger.

SCENE 5 — STORAGE ROOM — A DANGEROUS SECOND

Larry walks quickly down the hallway.

He enters the storage room and turns on the light.

His eyes fall on a baseball bat leaning against the wall.

He reaches for it.

Larry grips it tightly as his emotions overwhelm him.

He closes his eyes and takes a slow breath.

LARRY
“No… I’m not going to destroy my life because of this.”

He looks toward the hallway.

He can hear voices coming from the bedroom.

His anger returns.

For several seconds, Larry struggles between what he feels and what he knows he should do.

Finally, he walks back toward the bedroom.

SCENE 6 — HALLWAY — THE CONFRONTATION

Rob steps out of the bedroom and sees Larry approaching.

The woman remains behind him.

Rob raises his hands carefully.

ROB
“Larry, please. Let me explain.”

Larry raises the bat but keeps his distance.

LARRY
“Stay right there.”

Rob immediately stops.

The woman becomes frightened by the tension in the room.

Larry looks at the bat in his hands.

He knows he is only seconds away from making a decision he could regret forever.

He slowly lowers the bat.

The silence becomes heavier.

SCENE 7 — THE TRUTH COMES OUT

The woman steps forward cautiously.

WOMAN
“Larry, please don’t do anything. We can talk about this.”

Larry looks at her with disappointment.

LARRY
“Talk? You had plenty of time to tell me the truth.”

Rob lowers his head.

ROB
“I made a terrible choice.”

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
“You didn’t just make a choice. You came into my home and hid it from me.”

Rob remains silent.

Larry looks down at the bat.

After another long pause, he throws it onto the floor and steps away from it.

LARRY
“I’m not going to let my anger decide my future.”

The woman begins to cry.

WOMAN
“I’m sorry, Larry.”

Larry points toward the front door.

LARRY
“Rob, leave.”

Rob doesn’t argue.

Larry looks at the woman.

LARRY
“And I need some space from you too.”

SCENE 8 — THE EMPTY DOORWAY

Rob walks toward the entrance.

Before stepping outside, he turns around one last time.

ROB
“I know saying sorry won’t fix what I did.”

Larry doesn’t look at him.

Rob leaves the house.

The woman stands quietly near the doorway.

She wipes away her tears.

WOMAN
“Larry, please believe that I never wanted to hurt you.”

Larry finally looks at her.

LARRY
“But you did.”

She has no response.

Larry looks away.

LARRY
“Please leave. I need tonight to think.”

She slowly walks out.

The door closes.

Larry is finally alone.

SCENE 9 — NIGHT — WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The house becomes completely silent.

Larry sits alone in the living room.

His work bag remains exactly where he left it earlier.

He stares at the floor, replaying everything that happened.

The anger has slowly faded, leaving behind a much deeper feeling of betrayal.

Larry picks up his phone.

He opens his contacts but stops before calling anyone.

Instead, he puts the phone back down.

His eyes move toward the hallway.

The baseball bat is still lying there untouched.

Larry takes a deep breath.

LARRY
“Tonight, I lost more than trust. Tomorrow, I have to decide what I do with what’s left.”

The camera slowly pulls away.

Larry remains alone beneath the dim light.

Outside, the night becomes darker.

And somewhere beyond that closed door, the next decision is already waiting.
