ati );Sharra Begged Newburgh to Save Her Mother Shayra… But He Discovered a Secret From Six Years Ago

THE DOOR SHE WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO KNOCK ON
A cold wind moved through the trees. Sharra stood at Bethany’s front door, exhausted and desperate. She knocked twice. The door opened. Bethany stood there. The moment she saw Sharra, her expression hardened.
Bethany looked away. For one brief moment, Sharra thought she might help. But the old anger returned.
The door slowly closed. Sharra remained standing outside. She wiped away her tears and whispered to herself.
The next morning, Sharra entered Newburgh’s office. She stood in front of his desk with her hands folded. Newburgh looked at her coldly.
Sharra refused to leave immediately. Her voice broke as she begged one last time.
Sharra lowered her head. She knew there was nothing more she could say. She turned toward the door. But before she left, Newburgh looked at her strangely. For a moment, it seemed as if he remembered something.
The moment Sharra left, Newburgh opened an old drawer. Inside was a photograph of Bethany and Sharra from six years ago. Newburgh turned the photograph over. Something was written on the back. His face suddenly changed. He immediately reached for his phone.
He paused. Then he added one more sentence.
Sharra’s mother sat alone in her cell. She looked weak. Suddenly, a guard appeared.
The door opened. Newburgh walked inside.
Newburgh placed an old file on the table. Sharra’s mother stared at it. Inside were documents that appeared to prove something impossible. According to the records, she was never supposed to be arrested. Someone had deliberately put her there. Newburgh leaned closer.
Her face turned pale. She whispered one question.
Later that night, Sharra received a mysterious phone call.
Her mother’s frightened voice came through the phone.
The call suddenly ended.
Seconds later, a message appeared on Sharra’s phone.
ASK NEWBURGH WHAT HAPPENED SIX YEARS AGO.
Sharra looked toward the window. A black car was parked across the street. Its headlights turned on.
Then someone knocked on her apartment door.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
Sharra reached for the lock.
Suddenly, Newburgh’s voice came through her phone.
Sharra froze.
A piece of paper slowly slid underneath the door.
She picked it up.
One sentence was written on it:
“YOUR MOTHER WASN’T THE ONE WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO JAIL.”
Sharra’s face turned pale.
