The Decision Nobody Expected

The room was unusually quiet that night. Dinisha stood across from Anthony, watching him carefully. Something about his behavior felt different.

Only moments earlier, she had discovered something she never expected. The divorce agreement had changed.

Amber was not receiving the ten percent Anthony had originally promised. She was receiving thirty percent.

Anthony said nothing. Instead, he looked away as though the question had touched something he desperately wanted to keep hidden.

Dinisha immediately realized that his silence was not normal. He knew something. Something he was afraid to say.

The Ten Percent Promise

Dinisha remembered their earlier conversation. Anthony had been absolutely certain about the amount Amber would receive.

Dinisha had believed him. He had even repeated the same condition in front of Amber.

Amber had simply looked at the documents. She had not argued. She had not demanded anything.

Her only response had been a quiet, “Okay.”

Now Dinisha couldn’t understand what had changed. Thirty percent was not a small adjustment. Something major must have happened.

Dinisha looked directly at him.

Anthony lowered his eyes. Once again, he refused to answer.

The Key Anthony Was Hiding

Without saying a word, Anthony reached into his pocket.

He pulled out a small, old key.

The metal was covered with signs of age, and a strange symbol had been carved into its surface.

Anthony stared at the key for several seconds. Then he looked at Dinisha.

His expression had completely changed.

Dinisha felt a chill run through her.

Was the key for a house? A storage room? A safe? Or somewhere connected to a secret that had remained hidden for years?

Anthony refused to explain. He closed his hand around the key and walked away.

Amber Left Something Behind

Dinisha decided she could no longer wait for Anthony. If he wouldn’t tell her the truth, perhaps Amber would.

She went to Amber’s room. The door was open.

But Amber was gone.

There was only one envelope sitting on the table.

Dinisha’s name was written across it.

Dinisha picked up the envelope. Her hands began to shake.

Why would Amber leave something specifically for her? And why tell her not to open it?

She placed the envelope back on the table.

Then she heard footsteps.

Dinisha quickly turned toward the doorway.

Nobody was there.

Instead, something small was lying on the floor.

This Was Never Just About Divorce

Dinisha finally understood that the divorce might be hiding something much bigger.

If everything was really about money, why had Anthony suddenly changed Amber’s share from ten percent to thirty percent?

Dinisha grabbed her phone and called Anthony.

His phone was switched off.

Before she could try again, a message appeared from an unknown number.

Dinisha stared at the screen.

Her heart began beating faster.

Was someone trying to protect her? Or was someone leading her directly into a trap?
