Jnd ) Amber Confronts Iman About Shayla — But His Hidden Secret Could Change Everything

Amber, Iman, and Shayla

AMBER, IMAN, AND SHAYLA

The Man Who Walked Away From Her Future
The Story Hook

Amber had come to Iman for one reason: to make him admit the truth about why he abandoned Shayla.

She already knew Wayne had played a major role in their breakup. She knew Iman had received support when he decided to walk away. But what she couldn’t understand was how a man who had once promised Shayla a future could now speak about her as if she had never mattered.

And when Iman calmly declared that he had no intention of returning to Shayla’s life, Amber realized that this conversation was about to become much more than a simple confrontation.

Because Shayla wasn’t just an ex-girlfriend he had left behind.

She was a woman trying to rebuild her life, a mother raising a child, and someone who had once believed every promise he made.

Amber wasn’t going to let him forget that.

SCENE 1 — AMBER DECIDES TO CONFRONT IMAN

INT. IMAN’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON

Iman sat comfortably on the couch, scrolling through his phone.

His expression was calm. There was no visible sign of regret on his face, and he seemed perfectly content with the direction his life had taken.

A knock sounded at the door.

Iman looked up, placed his phone on the table, and went to answer it.

When he opened the door, Amber stood outside.

Her expression was serious, and the look in her eyes made it clear that she hadn’t come for a friendly visit.

IMANAmber? What are you doing here?

AMBERI need to talk to you.

IMANAbout what?

Amber stepped inside without wasting time.

She looked around the room briefly before turning her attention back to him.

AMBERYou already know what I’m here to discuss.

Iman sighed, closing the door behind her.

IMANIf this is about Shayla, I really don’t have time for another conversation about that situation.

Amber stared at him in disbelief.

AMBERAnother conversation? That’s how you’re describing it?

IMANAmber, whatever happened between me and Shayla is over. I don’t understand why everybody keeps bringing it up.

AMBERMaybe because you walked away from somebody who trusted you. Maybe because you made promises you never intended to keep.

Iman’s expression hardened.

IMANYou don’t know everything that happened between us.

AMBERThen explain it to me.

She folded her arms, refusing to look away.

AMBERTell me why you left her. Tell me what changed. Because one minute, Shayla believed you were building a future together, and the next minute, you were gone.

Iman shook his head.

IMANRelationships end, Amber. That’s life.

AMBERNo. That’s an excuse people use when they don’t want to take responsibility for their decisions.

The room fell silent.

For the first time since opening the door, Iman seemed to understand that Amber wasn’t going to leave simply because he wanted her to.

She had questions, and she expected answers.

SCENE 2 — THE QUESTION IMAN DOESN’T WANT TO ANSWER

INT. IMAN’S LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Amber walked closer to the couch but remained standing.

She had known Shayla long enough to recognize the difference between someone who had moved on and someone who was still struggling to understand why they had been abandoned.

Shayla had been left with unanswered questions.

Amber intended to find out why.

AMBERLet me ask you something, Iman.

Did you leave Shayla because you wanted to, or because somebody convinced you that walking away was the right thing to do?

Iman looked at her sharply.

IMANWhat is that supposed to mean?

AMBERYou heard me.

IMANNobody forced me to make my decisions.

AMBERI didn’t say anybody forced you. I asked whether somebody influenced you.

Iman remained quiet.

Amber watched his reaction carefully.

She already knew Wayne had played a significant role in helping Iman separate from Shayla. Wayne had supported him throughout the process, and Amber couldn’t ignore how much that support might have affected the situation.

But she wanted Iman to acknowledge his own part in what had happened.

AMBERWas it Wayne?

Iman’s jaw tightened.

IMANWhy are you bringing Wayne into this?

AMBERBecause I know he was involved.

IMANWayne gave me advice. That’s all.

AMBERAnd you decided to follow it.

IMANI’m an adult, Amber. I can make my own decisions.

AMBERExactly! So why can’t you stand behind your decision without acting like Shayla’s pain has nothing to do with you?

Iman stood up.

IMANI never said her pain had nothing to do with me.

AMBERThen show me that you understand what you did.

He rubbed his forehead, visibly frustrated.

IMANYou came here looking for somebody to blame. If you want to blame me, go ahead. But don’t expect me to sit here and pretend that the relationship was perfect.

Amber’s expression softened for a moment.

She wasn’t suggesting that every relationship was easy or that two people had to remain together forever.

She understood that feelings could change and relationships could end.

What she couldn’t accept was the way Iman seemed determined to dismiss the consequences of his choices.

AMBERI’m not asking you to pretend your relationship was perfect. I’m asking you to be honest about the promises you made and the way you left.

Iman looked away.

His silence only made Amber more determined to continue.

SCENE 3 — IMAN MAKES HIS POSITION CLEAR

INT. IMAN’S LIVING ROOM — MOMENTS LATER

Iman picked up his phone from the table and placed it in his pocket.

He seemed ready to end the conversation.

IMANLook, Amber, I’m going to make this simple for you. I’m not going back to Shayla.

Amber blinked, taken aback by how easily he said it.

AMBERNobody asked you to get back together with her.

IMANThen what exactly do you want from me?

AMBERThe truth!

IMANThe truth is that I’m done with that relationship. I don’t have those feelings anymore, and I want to move forward with my life.

Amber stared at him.

There was no hesitation in his voice. No indication that he was struggling with his decision. He spoke as though closing the door on Shayla had been the easiest thing he had ever done.

AMBERSo that’s it?

IMANYes. That’s it.

AMBERYou don’t care what happens to her now?

IMANThat’s not what I said.

AMBERThen what are you saying, Iman? Because every time I ask you about Shayla, you talk like she’s somebody you barely know.

Iman let out a frustrated breath.

IMANI can wish her well without wanting to be with her. Those two things are not the same.

Amber paused.

For a moment, she considered his words. He was right about one thing: nobody could be forced to remain in a relationship they no longer wanted.

But the right to leave did not erase the responsibility to treat another person with honesty and respect.

AMBERYou’re right. You don’t have to be with her. Nobody can force you to love somebody.

Iman seemed relieved that she had finally acknowledged his point.

Then Amber continued.

AMBERBut you don’t get to make somebody believe you’re building a future together and then act like those promises meant nothing.

His relief disappeared.

AMBERYou could have been honest with Shayla. You could have told her that your feelings had changed. You could have given her a chance to understand what was happe
