1. Amber Calls at the Worst Possible Moment

Dave sat on the edge of the sofa, staring at Wayne with an uncomfortable expression. Wayne stood near the window, casually scrolling through his phone as if nothing serious had happened. But both men knew the conversation had already become dangerous.

“Bro, before Amber finds out everything, you need to make sure your story makes sense.”

Dave narrowed his eyes.

“You’re about to call Amber, aren’t you?”

Wayne laughed softly.

“Me? Nah. I’m just checking who’s calling.”

At that exact moment, Wayne’s phone lit up. Amber.

Dave immediately froze.

Wayne looked at the screen, then slowly looked back at Dave. A knowing smile appeared on his face.

“Hey, Amber.”

The smile disappeared from Wayne’s face almost instantly.

“Wayne, I need to ask you something.”

The phone call suddenly became much more serious than either man expected.

2. Dave Tries to Take Control

Dave walked toward Wayne and lowered his voice.

“Give me the phone.”

Wayne pulled the phone slightly away.

“Relax, bro.”

“I said give me the phone.”

Amber heard him.

“Is Dave there?”

Wayne looked directly at Dave.

“Yeah. He’s here.”

Amber’s voice immediately became colder.

“Put him on.”

Dave reluctantly took the phone.

“Amber…”

“What happened in LA?”

Dave stared at the floor.

“Amber, it’s not what you think.”

Amber immediately replied, “That’s funny.”

Dave realized that his explanation wasn’t going to be easy.

3. The LA Story Starts Falling Apart

Amber spoke again, this time with a calmness that made Dave even more nervous.

“I know you were in LA.”

Dave swallowed hard.

“Yes.”

“And I know you were with someone.”

Dave looked toward Wayne.

“That part is complicated.”

“Who was she?”

Dave knew he was running out of excuses.

“It wasn’t supposed to become a big deal.”

Amber became silent.

“So there was someone.”

Dave had just confirmed what Amber already suspected.

4. Wayne Reveals He Knows More

Dave ended the call for a moment and turned toward Wayne.

“You knew?”

“Knew what?”

“About the video.”

Wayne sighed.

“I knew there was something going around.”

“How long?”

“A few days.”

Dave stared at him in disbelief.

“And you didn’t tell me?”

“I wanted to see what you were going to do.”

Before Dave could respond, his phone rang again.

Amber.

“Dave, I know who the woman in the video is.”

Dave’s face went pale.

Amber looked hurt, but beneath the emotion was something stronger. Determination.

“I have another video.”

Dave’s heart sank.

“Another video?”

“Yes.”

“What’s in it?”

“You and Wayne.”

Wayne immediately looked up.

The situation had become far more dangerous than either man expected.

6. The Secret Behind the LA Setup

Wayne unlocked his phone and opened a video he had secretly saved. The footage showed a hotel hallway in Los Angeles.

Dave watched himself walking through the hallway. A few seconds later, another woman appeared.

Then something caught Dave’s attention.

“Wait. Pause it.”

Wayne paused the footage. Dave zoomed in. His face suddenly turned pale.

“That’s Amber.”

Wayne stared at the screen.

“That can’t be.”

“She wasn’t supposed to be in LA.”

Before either man could understand what they had discovered, Dave’s phone vibrated.

An unknown number had sent a message.

“Stop asking questions before Amber finds out who really planned the LA setup.”

Then another message appeared.

This time there was an attachment.

Dave opened it.

The photograph showed Dave, Wayne, and Amber together in the same location. But the picture wasn’t taken in Los Angeles.

Dave slowly looked at Wayne.

“Who took this?”

Wayne didn’t answer.
