Anthony Planned to Propose to D’Nisha — But Shyla Had a Secret Plan

ANTHONY PLANNED TO PROPOSE TO D’NISHA— BUT SHYLA HAD A SECRET PLAN

THE SECRET THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Anthony had the ring. D’Nisha had no idea. But Shyla knew exactly what was coming. And she had a plan of her own.

THE PLAN

Anthony thought he had planned the perfect day.

A quiet picnic. Close friends. A beautiful view. And, hidden safely inside his pocket, a ring he had been carrying for weeks.

Before the sun went down, Anthony planned to ask D’Nisha the question that could change both of their lives.

But Anthony had made one mistake.

He invited Shyla.

And Shyla wasn’t just another friend.

She was his ex-wife.

THE PICNIC BEGINS

The afternoon began peacefully.

Anthony arrived at the park early, carrying a basket filled with food, drinks, and everything needed for the picnic.

He looked around carefully before checking his phone.

D’Nisha was on her way.

Anthony smiled nervously and touched the small ring box inside his jacket.

ANTHONY “Today has to be perfect.”

Humber and Dev were setting up the food while Shyla stood several feet away, quietly watching everything.

DEV “You’ve been checking that ring box every five minutes.”
ANTHONY “Because I don’t want anything to go wrong.”
HUMBER “Nothing is going to go wrong.”

Shyla heard them. She slowly turned toward Anthony. Her eyes stayed on him for a moment longer than necessary.

ANTHONY “Shyla, everything okay?”
SHYLA “Of course. I’m just happy for you.”

But there was something in her voice that didn’t sound happy at all.

D’NISHA ARRIVES

A few minutes later, D’Nisha arrived.

Anthony’s entire expression changed. He walked toward her with a huge smile.

ANTHONY “You made it.”
D’NISHA “Of course I did. You made this sound way too special for me to miss.”

Anthony hugged her. For a moment, he forgot everyone else was there.

ANTHONY “I wanted today to be different.”
D’NISHA “Different how?”
ANTHONY “You’ll find out.”

D’Nisha laughed. She had no idea what was waiting inside Anthony’s pocket.

The afternoon continued with jokes, food, pictures, and conversations.

Humber kept making everyone laugh while Dev took pictures of Anthony and D’Nisha together.

But Shyla barely spoke.

Every time Anthony smiled at D’Nisha, Shyla looked away.

Finally, D’Nisha noticed.

D’NISHA “Shyla, are you okay?”
SHYLA “I’m fine.”
D’NISHA “You seem quiet today.”
SHYLA “Maybe I’m just thinking.”

D’Nisha nodded, but she continued watching her.

Something felt strange.

THE MOMENT ANTHONY HAD BEEN WAITING FOR

As the sun began to set, Anthony decided the time was getting close.

He pulled D’Nisha slightly away from everyone.

ANTHONY “There’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you.”
D’NISHA “You’re making me nervous.”

Anthony reached toward his jacket.

But before he could take out the ring, Humber suddenly called from behind them.

HUMBER “Anthony! Come look at this picture!”
ANTHONY “One second!”
D’NISHA “Go.”
ANTHONY “Later tonight. I promise.”

D’Nisha nodded.

D’NISHA “I’ll remember that.”

Across the park, Shyla had seen everything.

She watched Anthony touch the pocket where the ring was hidden.

Her expression changed.

She finally understood what he was planning.

Anthony wasn’t simply taking D’Nisha on a picnic.

He was planning to propose.

Shyla quietly stood up and walked away from the group.

SHYLA’S SECRET

Shyla went to the side of the park and pulled out her phone.

She stared at Anthony and D’Nisha from a distance.

Then she opened an old folder on her phone.

There were pictures from years ago.

Anthony and Shyla. Their wedding. Their first home. Their vacations. Their life together.

Shyla stared at one picture for several seconds.

SHYLA “You really think it’s that easy to replace everything we had?”

She locked her phone. Her eyes became determined.

SHYLA “Not today.”

When everyone finally decided to leave the park, Anthony thought the hardest part of the day was over.

He was wrong.

BACK AT THE HOTEL

The group returned to the hotel where they had booked rooms for the night.
