The phone rings.

Once. Twice. Three times.

Larry stares at it from across the room. Something about the ringing feels wrong.

A police officer tells Larry that Sharra has been brought to the hospital.

Larry asks what happened.

Larry’s fingers loosen around the phone.

For a moment, he doesn’t even breathe.

Larry enters the room and sees Sharra lying unconscious.

Machines quietly beep beside her.

But Sharra doesn’t respond.

Detective Harris begins asking Larry questions.

Then Larry mentions a name.

Harris immediately writes the name down.

Officers search for Dre.

His address is empty.

Dre is already far from Atlanta.

His phone suddenly rings.

Dre’s face turns pale.

The call ends.

Sharra finally opens her eyes.

Larry immediately moves closer.

Sharra grips his hand.

Larry looks at Detective Harris.

A black envelope is discovered outside the hospital room.

Inside is a photograph of Sharra.

But Larry is standing behind her in the picture.

Detective Harris turns the photograph over.

There is a handwritten message on the back.

“ASK LARRY WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT.”

Larry stares at the message.

Somewhere outside the hospital…

a phone begins to ring.
