SCENE 1 — ARRIVING AT THE NEW HOUSE

EXT. DAVE’S NEW HOUSE — AFTERNOON

Dave pulled his car into the driveway of his beautiful new home. Amber stepped out, excited to see the property.

DAVE

Here we are! This is the place I’ve been telling you about. I wanted you to see everything with your own eyes.

AMBER

Wow, Dave! This house is beautiful. I can already imagine how amazing everything will look once you finish decorating it.

DAVE

Come on. Let me show you around.

Dave showed Amber the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and backyard. Everything looked beautiful.

AMBER

You really did a great job choosing this place. The neighborhood is beautiful, too.

Dave walked toward the front window. Suddenly, he noticed a woman standing outside the neighboring house.

His smile disappeared. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

It was Maria — the woman who had once been his first love.

SCENE 2 — THE WOMAN FROM HIS PAST

Dave stared through the window as memories of his past relationship came rushing back.

DAVE

Maria…? Is that really her?

AMBER

Dave? What’s wrong? Why are you staring outside like that?

DAVE

Nothing. Just someone I recognize.

AMBER

Who is she?

DAVE

Her name is Maria. She was someone very important in my life a long time ago.

AMBER

Someone important? What exactly do you mean?

DAVE

She was my first love.

Amber immediately became uncomfortable. She realized that Dave’s reaction was much stronger than an ordinary reunion.

SCENE 3 — AN UNEXPECTED REUNION

Dave suddenly walked toward the front door. Amber followed him, confused.

AMBER

Dave, where are you going?

DAVE

I need to talk to her.

AMBER

Right now? We came here together!

Dave walked outside and approached Maria. She turned around and immediately recognized him.

MARIA

Dave?

DAVE

Maria! I can’t believe this. It’s really you!

MARIA

Dave, what are you doing here?

DAVE

I just moved into that house next door. I had no idea you lived here.

MARIA

You live next door now?

DAVE

Maria, where did you disappear to? Do you have any idea how many places I searched for you?

DAVE

I missed you more than you could ever imagine. I wanted to know where you went and why you left.

MARIA

Dave, that was a long time ago. A lot has changed.

Meanwhile, Amber stood near the entrance, watching everything.

SCENE 4 — AMBER WITNESSES EVERYTHING

Amber approached Dave and Maria. She couldn’t believe how close Dave was standing to his former girlfriend.

AMBER

Dave, can I talk to you for a second?

DAVE

What is it, Amber?

AMBER

What’s going on here? You’re acting like I’m not even standing here!

DAVE

Amber, this is not the right time.

AMBER

Then when is the right time? We came here together, and suddenly you’re telling another woman how much you’ve missed her!

MARIA

Dave, maybe you should talk to Amber.

AMBER

I don’t blame Maria, but you should respect me enough to explain what’s happening.

DAVE

Amber, you need to stop making this difficult.

AMBER

I’m making it difficult? You’re the one behaving like this!

SCENE 5 — DAVE’S SHOCKING CONFESSION

Dave finally turned toward Amber. His expression became cold.

DAVE

You want the truth? Fine. I’ll tell you the truth.

AMBER

I’m listening.

DAVE

Maria was my first love. She was the woman I truly wanted in my life.

Dave pointed toward Maria.

DAVE

Seeing her again has made me realize something. My feelings for her never completely disappeared.

AMBER

So what does that make me, Dave?

DAVE

Maybe I was never as serious about you as you thought.

AMBER

Are you seriously telling me that everything between us meant nothing?

DAVE

I don’t want to argue about our past anymore. Maria is the woman I always wanted.

Amber looked at him in disbelief. She never imagined hearing those words from Dave.

SCENE 6 — MARIA’S RETURN CHANGES EVERYTHING

MARIA

Dave, please. Don’t turn this into something ugly. I didn’t know you were with Amber.

DAVE

Maria, you don’t have to explain anything. I just want to know why you disappeared.

MARIA

There were reasons. Things happened that you never understood.

DAVE

Then tell me now. I spent years wondering what happened to you.

AMBER

Maria, I don’t blame you for anything. You didn’t know what was happening between us.

MARIA

I’m sorry you’re caught in the middle of this.

AMBER

I just wish Dave had been honest with me before bringing me into this situation.

DAVE

That’s enough. I don’t want this conversation to continue.

SCENE 7 — THE FINAL BREAKUP

Amber stood in front of Dave, hoping he would reconsider his decision.

AMBER

Dave, think carefully about what you’re doing. You cannot just throw everything away because your ex-girlfriend suddenly appeared.

DAVE

I don’t need to think about it. I’ve already made my decision.

AMBER

So you’re choosing Maria?

DAVE

Yes. I want to be with the woman I truly love.

AMBER

Then what happens to everything you promised me?

DAVE

Forget those promises. I don’t want to continue this relationship.

AMBER

You could have told me the truth without humiliating me.

DAVE

I’m done, Amber! Get out of my life!

Amber stepped back, unable to believe how quickly everything had changed.

SCENE 8 — AMBER WALKS AWAY HEARTBROKEN

Amber turned around and walked toward her car. Her eyes were filled with tears.

AMBER

I can’t believe this happened.

She stopped near her car and looked back at the house one final time.

AMBER

I deserved honesty. Nothing more, nothing less.

She got into her car and drove away. Dave watched her leave without making an effort to stop her.

For Amber, the beautiful afternoon had turned into one of the most painful moments of her life.

SCENE 9 — DAVE AND MARIA FACE THEIR PAST

After Amber left, Dave turned toward Maria. His expression softened.

DAVE

I can’t believe you’re standing in front of me again.

MARIA

Dave, I never thought we would meet like this.

DAVE

I’ve imagined this moment so many times. I wanted to ask you so many questions.

MARIA

You don’t understand how complicated everything was back then.

DAVE

Then help me understand. Why did you leave without telling me where you were going?

MARIA

Because I thought leaving was the only choice I had.

DAVE

But you never gave me the chance to understand.

MARIA

I know.

DAVE

Maria, I want another chance. I don’t want to lose you again.

MARIA

You cannot expect everything to become the same just because we met again.

DAVE

I’m asking you to let me be part of your future.

Maria remained silent. Dave realized that getting her back might not be as easy as he imagined.

SCENE 10 — A SECRET THAT COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING

Later that evening, Maria invited Dave inside. They sat in the living room, surrounded by memories of the past.

DAVE

Maria, there’s something I need to know. Did you ever stop loving me?

MARIA

Dave, before I answer that question, there’s something you need to understand.

DAVE

What is it?

MARIA

The reason I disappeared wasn’t because I stopped caring about you. There was something happening in my life that I couldn’t tell you.

Dave leaned forward, completely confused.

DAVE

What are you talking about?

Maria looked toward an old photograph sitting on a nearby table. She picked it up carefully.

MARIA

I kept this picture because I never completely forgot what we had.

DAVE

You kept that all these years?

MARIA

Yes. But the photograph isn’t the only thing I kept from our past.

Maria opened a drawer and pulled out an old envelope. She placed it on the table between them.

MARIA

This is something I should have given you a long time ago.

DAVE

What’s inside?

MARIA

The truth about why I left you.

Dave slowly reached for the envelope. But just as he was about to open it, Maria stopped him.

MARIA

Wait, Dave. Before you read this, you need to promise me something.

DAVE

What promise?

MARIA

Whatever you discover tonight, don’t assume that you know the whole story.

Dave froze. He had believed finding Maria would finally bring him happiness. But now he was beginning to wonder whether their past was hiding something much bigger.

DAVE

Maria… what have you been hiding from me?

Maria remained silent. The camera slowly moved toward the unopened envelope.

And just as Dave prepared to discover the truth, the scene faded to black.
