SCENE 1: A SHOCKING PROPOSAL
Chadwick arrived at Shayla’s home with a serious expression. She had no idea that his visit would turn her happiness into heartbreak.
SHAYLA:
“Chadwick? What are you doing here? You could have called me before coming over.”
CHADWICK:
“I needed to talk to you face-to-face. There’s something important about our future.”
Shayla smiled, wondering whether he had finally decided to marry her.
SCENE 2: THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL
CHADWICK:
“Shayla, I’ve been thinking about us. I believe we should stop wasting time and get married.”
SHAYLA:
“Are you serious? You really want to marry me?”
CHADWICK:
“Yes, but there’s one condition you need to understand before you give me your answer.”
Her smile faded as she realized that his proposal came with a demand.
SCENE 3: THE SHOCKING CONDITION
SHAYLA:
“What kind of condition are you talking about?”
CHADWICK:
“We can get married, but Kai cannot live with us. I cannot take care of him.”
Shayla stared at him in disbelief, waiting for him to admit he was joking.
But Chadwick remained serious, leaving her completely speechless.
SCENE 4: A MOTHER’S PAIN
SHAYLA:
“You’re asking me to marry you and leave my own son behind?”
CHADWICK:
“I want peace in my home. I don’t want the responsibility of raising a child.”
Shayla’s eyes filled with tears as she thought about Kai and the promises she had made to protect him.
SHAYLA:
“Kai is my son! He’s not someone I can abandon whenever life gets difficult.”
SCENE 5: AN IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE
CHADWICK:
“You deserve to be happy, too. There has to be somewhere else Kai can stay.”
SHAYLA:
“Somewhere else? He’s a little boy who needs his mother. What am I supposed to tell him?”
Chadwick insisted that his condition would not change, leaving Shayla torn between her relationship and her responsibilities as a mother.
She wondered whether he truly understood what he was asking her to sacrifice.
SCENE 6: KAI’S HEARTBREAKING QUESTION
After Chadwick left, Shayla sat alone, trying to control her emotions. Then Kai appeared in the doorway.
KAI:
“Mommy, why are you crying?”
SHAYLA:
“I’m okay, baby. Come here.”
She hugged him tightly, promising that he had done nothing wrong and that she loved him more than anything.

Later that evening, Chadwick sent Shayla a message asking her to reconsider his marriage condition.
Shayla finally asked whether he would ever allow Kai to live with them.
His reply left her terrified.
CHADWICK’S MESSAGE:
“There’s something else you need to know about Kai before you make your decision.”
SCENE 8: THE BIGGEST SECRET
Shayla immediately called Chadwick, but he didn’t answer. Moments later, another message appeared on her phone.
CHADWICK’S MESSAGE:
“Don’t tell Kai anything yet. We need to talk about his living arrangements first.”
Shayla stared at the screen, her heart pounding. What could Chadwick possibly know about her son that she didn’t?
She looked toward Kai’s bedroom, wondering whether the marriage condition was hiding an even bigger secret.
