1. The Shocking Truth

Anthony stood silently as Denisha explained what she had discovered. He stared at her, hoping she would take back her words, but her serious expression told him she was not joking.

“Anthony, I need you to listen carefully,” Denisha said. “I found a report that says Arby is Kai’s biological father. You deserve to know what it says, even if the truth is difficult to hear.”

Anthony shook his head. “That doesn’t make sense. Shayla told me everything was settled. Are you saying she has been lying to me this entire time?”

“I’m saying the report raises serious questions,” Denisha replied. “You need to ask Shayla why this information was kept from you.”

Confusion quickly turned into anger. Anthony had trusted Shayla and believed they were being honest with each other. Now, he wondered whether the foundation of their relationship had been built on a lie.

“If this is true, somebody has some serious explaining to do,” Anthony said. “I stood by Shayla, and I believed her. I need to know why I was never told.”

Denisha urged him to get answers before making assumptions. Anthony listened, but his mind was already made up: he would speak to Shayla face-to-face.

2. Anthony Demands Answers From Shayla

When Anthony arrived, Shayla noticed his tense expression. He barely greeted her before asking the question that had been tormenting him.

“Is Arby Kai’s biological father?” Anthony demanded.

Shayla froze. “Where is this coming from? Why would you suddenly ask me that?”

“Don’t turn this around on me,” he replied. “Denisha showed me a DNA report identifying Arby as Kai’s father. I want to know why I had to hear this from someone else.”

Shayla tried to keep her composure. “You can’t believe everything people tell you. Denisha might have her own reasons for bringing this to you.”

Anthony’s frustration grew. “I’m asking about you, Shayla—not Denisha. Did you know about this report?”

She looked away, unable to give him a direct answer. That small hesitation made Anthony even more suspicious.

“You can’t even look me in the eyes and answer,” he said. “How long have you known about this?”

“You’re making accusations without understanding the whole situation,” Shayla insisted.

“Then explain it to me!” Anthony fired back. “If Arby is Kai’s father, I need to understand why I was left in the dark.”

Shayla said she had never wanted things to become so complicated, but the vague response only deepened his doubts.

“So there is something you’re not telling me?” Anthony asked.

Shayla insisted that other people were interfering in their relationship. Anthony shook his head, disappointed that she still would not provide a clear explanation.

“I came here hoping you would tell me the truth,” he said. “Instead, you’ve made me question everything you’ve ever told me. This isn’t over. I’m going to ask Arby myself.”

He walked out, leaving Shayla worried about what Anthony might discover next.

3. Anthony Shows Arby the Report

Anthony drove straight to Arby’s place, holding the report tightly. He wanted a reasonable explanation, but Shayla’s reaction had made it difficult for him to trust anyone.

When Arby opened the door, he immediately noticed Anthony’s serious expression.

“Anthony? What’s going on? You look like you’re ready to start a fight,” Arby said.

“I came here because I need answers,” Anthony replied. “And you’re going to explain what’s happening.”

Arby frowned. “What are you talking about?”

Anthony held up the DNA report. “Look at this! It says you’re Kai’s biological father. Do you understand what this means?”

Arby’s expression changed as he examined the document. After a moment, he shook his head and pushed it back toward Anthony.

“This report is fake,” Arby declared. “I don’t know who created it, but you shouldn’t assume everything written on it is true.”

Anthony stared at him in disbelief. “Fake? That’s your explanation? I bring you evidence, and all you can say is that it’s fake?”

“I’m telling you what I believe,” Arby answered. “Someone could be trying to create problems between us.”

Anthony stepped closer, his voice rising. “Then prove it! Why does this report say otherwise? Denisha showed me the evidence, Shayla won’t give me a straight answer, and now you’re denying everything.”

Arby folded his arms. “Have you considered that somebody wants you to turn against the people around you?”

For a moment, Anthony fell silent. The possibility that someone might be manipulating the situation crossed his mind, but he was not willing to dismiss the report simply because Arby denied it.

4. The Argument Takes a New Turn

Anthony looked down at the document again. For him, this was not just an argument between two men. It concerned Kai, Shayla, and the trust he thought he could place in his family.

“Who would go to such lengths to destroy my family?” Anthony asked.

“I don’t know,” Arby replied. “But I’m not going to accept responsibility for something just because a piece of paper says so.”

Anthony shook his head. “This isn’t just a piece of paper to me. If it’s real, somebody has been lying. If it’s fake, somebody is trying to frame you. Either way, I need the truth.”

Arby stood firm. “Then get it verified. Take it to the laboratory and confirm whether it’s authentic. Until then, don’t accuse me of something you haven’t proven.”

Anthony considered the suggestion. Independent verification was the only way to determine whether the document was genuine. Even so, Arby’s denial did not erase the doubts that had taken root in his mind.

“Fine,” Anthony said. “I’ll get it verified. But if this report turns out to be real, I’m coming back, and I expect honest answers.”

Arby nodded. “And if it’s fake, I expect you to apologize for accusing me without proof.”

Anthony turned toward the door, then paused as Arby called after him.

“Think carefully about who benefits from all this confusion. Don’t let someone else make you turn against everyone around you.”

Anthony did not turn around. “I’ll decide who I can trust after I know the truth.”

5. A Mystery That Could Change Everything

Anthony left Arby’s house with more questions than answers. Denisha had presented the report as a serious discovery. Shayla had avoided giving him a clear explanation. Arby, meanwhile, insisted the document was fake and challenged Anthony to verify it.

As he drove away, Anthony realized that accusations alone would not solve anything. He needed the report independently checked and the facts confirmed before deciding what to believe. Still, the damage to his trust had already begun.

Was Shayla hiding a painful truth? Was Arby denying something he knew was real? Or had someone created a fake report to turn the family against one another?

One thing was certain: Anthony would no longer accept vague explanations. Until the report was verified, every possibility remained open. And whoever was responsible for the confusion would eventually have to face the consequences.
