DANISHA
Why do you always act like I’m the problem, Anthony? Every time I try to talk to you, you make me feel like my feelings don’t matter.
ANTHONY
Because you never know when to stop, Danisha! You keep arguing about the same things over and over again.
DANISHA
The same things? Do you even listen to yourself? I’m trying to explain how I feel, but you never want to understand me.
ANTHONY
I don’t have time for another argument.
DANISHA
Of course you don’t. You never have time for me unless you want something.
ANTHONY
Watch your words.
DANISHA
Or what? You’re going to ignore me again? Pretend I don’t exist? That’s what you always do!
DANISHA
Tell me something, Anthony. Why is it so difficult for you to treat me with the same respect you expect from everyone else?
Anthony looks away, leaving Danisha frustrated and hurt.

DANISHA
You know what hurts the most? It’s not even the arguments anymore.
DANISHA
It’s the way you change whenever Shayla is around.
ANTHONY
What does Shayla have to do with this?
DANISHA
Everything! The moment she walks into a room, you suddenly become a different person.
ANTHONY
You’re imagining things.
DANISHA
When I speak, you get annoyed. But when Shayla says something, you listen to every single word.
ANTHONY
I’m not discussing Shayla with you.
DANISHA
You don’t have to discuss her. Your actions already tell me everything I need to know.
ANTHONY
Be careful, Danisha.
DANISHA
Why? Are you afraid I might finally say something you don’t want to hear?
SCENE 3: DANISHA CONFRONTS ANTHONY

DANISHA
Let me ask you one simple question. Why do you always act so tough with me?
ANTHONY
What are you talking about now?
DANISHA
You’re always shouting at me, always telling me what to do, always making me feel like I’m beneath you.
ANTHONY
Nobody is making you feel anything. That’s all in your head.
DANISHA
So now my feelings are a problem too?
ANTHONY
I’m done with this conversation.
DANISHA
You always walk away whenever things get uncomfortable. You never take responsibility for anything.
ANTHONY
I don’t owe you an explanation for everything I do!
DANISHA
I keep trying to fix things, while you keep finding reasons to push me away.
SCENE 4: ANTHONY FINALLY EXPLODES
INT. LUXURY HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS
DANISHA
You know what? I’m tired of pretending that everything is fine.
ANTHONY
Then stop pretending!
DANISHA
You don’t have to scream at me!
ANTHONY
Then stop provoking me!
DANISHA
Provoking you? I’m asking you to treat me with respect!
ANTHONY
You’re always shouting at me, Danisha! But when Shayla is around, you don’t dare raise your voice!
DANISHA
Are you serious right now? You’re blaming me for the way you behave?
ANTHONY
I’ve had enough of you!
DANISHA
And I’ve had enough of you treating me like I’m nobody!
Anthony loses control and slaps Danisha. The room falls silent.
DANISHA
You… you just slapped me?
ANTHONY
Danisha, I—
DANISHA
Don’t! Don’t you dare say another word!
DANISHA
I knew you were angry, but I never thought you would actually raise your hand against me.
DANISHA
Don’t touch me!
SCENE 5: DANISHA’S HEARTBREAK

ANTHONY
Danisha, please listen to me.
DANISHA
Listen to you? You didn’t listen to a single word I said!
ANTHONY
I lost my temper.
DANISHA
And that makes it acceptable?
ANTHONY
No.
DANISHA
You were angry because I mentioned Shayla. But instead of answering me, you decided to hurt me.
ANTHONY
You do matter.
DANISHA
Your words mean nothing when your actions say something completely different.
ANTHONY
I’m sorry.
DANISHA
Are you sorry because you hurt me, or are you sorry because you finally realized what you’ve done?
DANISHA
You should have thought about that before you raised your hand against me.
SCENE 6: A SILENCE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

ANTHONY
Danisha, please. Just give me a chance to explain.
DANISHA
Explain what, Anthony? That you were angry? That I pushed you too far? That somehow, this is all my fault?
ANTHONY
I didn’t say that.
DANISHA
You would have kept shouting until I apologized just to make the argument end.
ANTHONY
I wouldn’t forget this.
DANISHA
Neither will I.
ANTHONY
Where are you going?
DANISHA
Somewhere I can breathe without being afraid of what you’ll do when you get angry.
Danisha walks out. Anthony remains alone as the door closes behind her.
SCENE 7: ANTHONY FACES THE CONSEQUENCES
INT. LUXURY HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — LATE AFTERNOON
Anthony sits on the sofa, replaying the argument in his mind.
His phone vibrates. A message from Shayla appears on the screen.
He ignores it, realizing that an apology cannot erase what happened.
ANTHONY
What have I done?
Outside, the afternoon sunlight begins to fade. Anthony remains alone in the silence.
