DAVE’S ROMANTIC PROPOSAL TURNS INTO A NIGHTMARE!
The beautiful evening was supposed to become the happiest night of Yaya’s life. Dave was ready to ask her the biggest question, but he had no idea that Anthony was about to walk into the room. And when Anthony discovered what Dave was doing, his reaction changed everything.
But the biggest shock wasn’t Anthony’s anger.
It was Yaya’s shocking confession.
SCENE 1 — THE PERFECT PROPOSAL
The elegant living room was decorated with beautiful flowers and candles. Soft music played in the background.
Dave stood nervously in front of a small table. A beautiful engagement ring rested inside a velvet box.
He checked everything one last time. Tonight was special.
Suddenly, Yaya walked into the room wearing a beautiful dress. She looked surprised by the decorations.
YAYA
“Dave? What’s all this? Why does everything look so different tonight?”
DAVE
“Because tonight isn’t an ordinary night, Yaya. There’s something I’ve wanted to tell you for a very long time.”
YAYA
“You’re making me nervous. Is everything okay?”
Dave slowly walked toward her. He took her hand and looked into her eyes.
DAVE
“Yaya, you’ve become someone incredibly important in my life. Every time I imagine my future, I see you standing beside me. I don’t want another day to pass without telling you how much you mean to me.”
Dave suddenly got down on one knee and opened the velvet box. A beautiful diamond ring sparkled under the lights.
DAVE
“Yaya, will you marry me?”
Yaya covered her mouth in complete shock. Her eyes filled with tears.
YAYA
“Dave… I don’t know what to say.”
DAVE
“You don’t have to say anything complicated. Just tell me what’s in your heart.”
Yaya slowly extended her hand. But before Dave could place the ring on her finger, the front door suddenly opened.
SCENE 2 — ANTHONY WALKS INTO THE NIGHTMARE
Anthony entered the house. He had come to surprise Yaya, but what he saw stopped him immediately.
Dave was kneeling in front of her. The engagement ring was open in his hand.
ANTHONY
“What is going on here?”
YAYA
“Anthony! What are you doing here?”
ANTHONY
“Get up. Right now.”
DAVE
“Anthony, I think there’s been a misunderstanding.”
ANTHONY
“A misunderstanding? You’re standing in front of my fiancée with an engagement ring, and you’re calling this a misunderstanding?”
Anthony stepped closer and grabbed Dave by the shirt.
ANTHONY
“How dare you do this to me?”
DAVE
“Let go of me! You need to listen.”
Anthony shoved him backward. Dave stumbled against the table, and the velvet ring box fell to the floor.
YAYA
“ANTHONY! STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”
ANTHONY
“Stay away from my fiancée!”
DAVE
“Then maybe you should ask your fiancée why she never told you the truth.”
Anthony froze and slowly turned toward Yaya.
ANTHONY
“What truth?”
Yaya couldn’t answer.
SCENE 3 — YAYA’S SILENCE
The room became completely quiet. The romantic music continued playing, but nobody was paying attention to it anymore.
ANTHONY
“Yaya, look at me. Is Dave telling the truth?”
YAYA
“Anthony, I never wanted tonight to happen like this.”
ANTHONY
“That’s not an answer. Did you know he was going to propose?”
Dave finally spoke.
DAVE
“She knew how I felt about her. I never hid my feelings.”
ANTHONY
“Nobody asked you!”
DAVE
“I’m not going to stand here and pretend that nothing happened. I care about Yaya, and I wanted to spend my future with her.”
ANTHONY
“Your future? She’s already engaged to me!”
YAYA
“Anthony, please. I know you’re hurt, but you need to understand something.”
ANTHONY
“Then explain it!”
YAYA
“I never told you everything about my relationship with Dave.”
ANTHONY
“What does that mean?”
YAYA
“Before you and I became engaged, Dave and I had a conversation. We made a promise to each other.”
DAVE
“Tell him, Yaya. He deserves to know.”
SCENE 4 — THE SECRET FROM THE PAST
Yaya walked toward the sofa and sat down. Her hands were trembling.
YAYA
“Dave and I were once very close. We talked about getting married, but things changed. We went our separate ways because neither of us was ready to make that commitment.”
ANTHONY
“So you were together before me?”
YAYA
“Yes. But that relationship ended before you and I started ours.”
ANTHONY
“And you waited until now to come back?”
DAVE
“I never stopped caring about her. But I respected her choices.”
ANTHONY
“Then why propose tonight? Why couldn’t you leave her alone?”
DAVE
“Because I believed she deserved to know how I felt. I wasn’t trying to hurt you.”
ANTHONY
“You think buying a ring makes everything right?”
YAYA
“ENOUGH! Both of you! I am tired of watching two people argue while nobody asks me what I actually want.”
ANTHONY
“You’re my fiancée, Yaya. Of course I care about what you want.”
YAYA
“Then let me speak.”
SCENE 5 — ANTHONY DEMANDS AN ANSWER
Anthony took a deep breath. He looked at the ring in Dave’s hand, then turned toward Yaya.
ANTHONY
“Fine. I’ll ask you one question, and I want an honest answer. Do you love me?”
YAYA
“Anthony, you have been there for me during some of the most difficult moments of my life. You made me feel protected. You supported my dreams, and you gave me reasons to smile when everything seemed impossible.”
ANTHONY
“Then what’s the problem?”
YAYA
“The problem is that there are things from my past that I never properly dealt with.”
ANTHONY
“Does that mean you still have feelings for him?”
Yaya didn’t answer immediately. Dave lowered the ring box, understanding that the decision belonged to Yaya.
DAVE
“Anthony, I’m not asking you to understand my feelings. But please don’t force her to make a decision because you’re angry.”
YAYA
“I need some time. I cannot accept a proposal tonight, and I cannot pretend that everything is fine between us.”
SCENE 6 — THE RING ON THE FLOOR
Anthony picked up his jacket from the sofa and walked toward the door.
YAYA
“Anthony, where are you going?”
ANTHONY
“Somewhere I can think without watching another man propose to my fiancée.”
YAYA
“Please don’t leave like this.”
ANTHONY
“You should have thought about that before allowing this situation to happen.”
DAVE
“Don’t blame her for everything. I made the decision to propose.”
ANTHONY
“You have already done enough damage tonight.”
Anthony opened the door and looked at Yaya one last time.
ANTHONY
“When you finally decide what you want, make sure you remember who stood beside you when nobody else did.”
The door slammed. Yaya stood motionless before covering her face and crying.
DAVE
“Yaya, I’m sorry. I never wanted to make you cry.”
YAYA
“You don’t understand, Dave. This is much bigger than a proposal.”
Yaya walked toward the table and picked up a small envelope hidden beneath the decorations.
YAYA
“There is something Anthony doesn’t know. I was going to tell him tonight, but everything happened too quickly.”
Dave opened the envelope. Inside was a document. His expression changed as he read it.
DAVE
“Yaya… where did you get this?”
YAYA
“Anthony gave it to me three days ago.”
SCENE 7 — THE PHONE CALL THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Outside, Anthony sat inside his car. He wasn’t ready to drive away.
His phone suddenly rang. The caller’s name appeared on the screen: UNKNOWN NUMBER.
ANTHONY
“Hello?”
UNKNOWN VOICE
“Anthony, did you see what happened tonight?”
ANTHONY
“Who is this?”
UNKNOWN VOICE
“Forget about Dave. You need to be careful about Yaya.”
ANTHONY
“What do you know about Yaya?”
UNKNOWN VOICE
“She hasn’t told you the real reason Dave came back into her life.”
ANTHONY
“What are you talking about? Dave just proposed to her.”
UNKNOWN VOICE
“That wasn’t his real reason.”
The call suddenly disconnected. Anthony immediately tried calling back, but the number was unavailable.
SCENE 8 — THE FINAL REVELATION
Inside the house, Dave was still holding the mysterious document.
DAVE
“Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?”
YAYA
“Because I was afraid you would walk away.”
Yaya slowly nodded and reached into her handbag. She pulled out another photograph.
It showed Anthony standing beside someone Dave recognized immediately.
DAVE
“Wait… that’s impossible.”
YAYA
“I found it in Anthony’s office. He tried to hide it from me.”
DAVE
“Does Anthony know that you have this?”
YAYA
“No. And there’s something else.”
Suddenly, the front door opened again. Both of them turned.
Anthony was standing there. His face was completely different now. He wasn’t shouting. He wasn’t arguing.
ANTHONY
“So, you finally showed him.”
YAYA
“Anthony… how did you know?”
ANTHONY
“Because I know exactly what’s inside that envelope.”
DAVE
“Then explain it. What is this photograph?”
ANTHONY
“Ask her why she kept it.”
YAYA
“Don’t do this, Anthony. You know the truth.”
ANTHONY
“No, Yaya. Tonight, everyone is going to hear the truth.”
Suddenly, his phone rang again. It was the same unknown number. Anthony answered and put the call on speaker.
UNKNOWN VOICE
“Anthony, don’t tell them everything. Remember, we made a deal.”
Dave looked shocked. Yaya covered her mouth. Anthony immediately ended the call.
DAVE
“What deal?”
ANTHONY
“There’s a reason I never wanted Dave and Yaya together. And if I tell you what really happened before tonight, both of you will understand why this engagement was never supposed to happen.”
YAYA
“Anthony, please… don’t reveal that secret.”
DAVE
“What secret, Yaya?”
Anthony reached into his jacket and pulled out a second envelope. He placed it on the table beside Dave’s engagement ring.
ANTHONY
“Open this. Then you’ll know who has been lying to you.”
Dave slowly reached for the envelope. But just as he was about to open it, Yaya suddenly grabbed his hand.
YAYA
“NO, DAVE! PLEASE DON’T OPEN THAT!”
Dave looked at her in disbelief. Anthony stepped backward and gave a mysterious smile.
ANTHONY
“Now you finally understand. The proposal was never the real problem.”
The camera slowly moved toward the unopened envelope.
And just before Dave could discover its contents, someone knocked loudly at the front door.
A familiar voice called out.
VOICE FROM OUTSIDE
“Yaya! Open the door! I know Anthony is inside, and I know what he did!”
Yaya froze. Dave turned toward the entrance. Anthony’s face suddenly lost its confidence.
