SCENE 1 — BACK HOME, BUT LARRY’S MIND IS SOMEWHERE ELSE
The cruise was finally over.
Larry and Bethany had returned home, hoping to settle back into their normal routine. However, something about Larry had changed. Although he was physically present with his wife, his thoughts seemed to be somewhere far away.
And that somewhere was Jade.
Jade was not just another woman Larry had met during the cruise. She was someone from his past, a former friend with whom he had once shared a complicated connection. They had spent a couple of nights together, and although Larry never married her, he eventually chose Bethany as his wife.
But returning from the cruise had brought back memories Larry thought he had left behind.
Bethany noticed that her husband was unusually quiet. She tried to start conversations, but Larry barely responded.
I’ve been talking to you for the last few minutes, but you haven’t even answered properly.
What were you saying?
You’re sitting right here, but it feels like you’re not even with me.
Larry looked at her briefly before turning his attention away.
He knew Bethany was noticing his behavior, but he didn’t know how to explain what was happening inside his head.
The memories of Jade continued returning, making it difficult for him to concentrate on anything else.
SCENE 2 — BETHANY TRIES TO UNDERSTAND HER HUSBAND
Later that afternoon, Bethany decided to give Larry another opportunity to open up.
She approached him while he was sitting quietly in the living room.

Larry remained silent.
Bethany walked away feeling disappointed.
