Bethany never imagined that one restaurant visit could turn her entire mood upside down. She had been trying to believe that things between her and Larry were finally getting better, but an unexpected encounter was about to challenge everything she thought she knew about her marriage.
The afternoon began peacefully as Bethany and Charlotte sat together at a restaurant, enjoying their lunch. Bethany looked noticeably happier than she had been in recent days. For once, she wasn’t constantly complaining about Larry or questioning his intentions. Instead, she seemed hopeful about the future of their relationship.
Charlotte Asks About Larry and Bethany’s Marriage
Charlotte noticed the change in her friend’s attitude and decided to ask what was going on.
Bethany smiled slightly before responding.
Charlotte raised her eyebrows, looking genuinely surprised.
Bethany nodded enthusiastically.
She paused for a moment and continued.
Charlotte Believes Larry Is Finally Changing
Charlotte smiled and told Bethany that perhaps Larry had finally realized what he could lose.
Bethany agreed, explaining that she wanted to move forward rather than constantly revisit their past arguments.
Charlotte listened carefully and reminded Bethany that actions were more important than promises. Bethany agreed, but she was convinced that Larry was finally coming around and that their marriage was heading in a better direction.
The Unexpected Arrival of Larry and Jade
However, neither woman noticed that Larry was about to walk into the very same restaurant.
A few moments later, the restaurant doors opened, and Larry walked inside with Jade. What immediately caught everyone’s attention was the beautiful bouquet of flowers Larry was holding in his hand.
Larry and Jade looked incredibly happy together. They were smiling, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company as they walked through the restaurant.
Larry seemed completely comfortable, and Jade appeared equally delighted to be spending time with him.
Bethany Is Completely Shocked
Unfortunately for Bethany, their arrival couldn’t have come at a worse moment.
She had just finished telling Charlotte how much better her relationship with Larry was becoming when she suddenly noticed him walking through the restaurant with another woman.
Bethany’s smile disappeared instantly. She stared at Larry, then at Jade, before looking down at the flowers in his hand.
Charlotte turned around and immediately spotted them.
Bethany couldn’t take her eyes off Larry and Jade.
Larry hadn’t noticed Bethany yet. He was too busy talking to Jade, who seemed to be enjoying every moment with him. Jade said something that made Larry laugh, and he responded with a cheerful smile.
For Bethany, the scene was becoming increasingly difficult to watch.
Charlotte Makes a Surprising Comment
Only moments earlier, Bethany had been telling Charlotte that Larry was changing and that their marriage was improving. Now, she was watching him arrive at a restaurant with another woman, carrying flowers and looking happier than she had seen him in a long time.
Charlotte, however, seemed strangely entertained by the situation. She continued watching Larry and Jade as they approached their table.
Charlotte tried to maintain her composure.
Bethany frowned.
Charlotte looked at her with a knowing smile.
Bethany’s expression hardened.
Charlotte continued smiling.
Bethany Gets Angry at Charlotte
Her comment immediately irritated Bethany.
Charlotte glanced toward Larry and Jade again.
Bethany couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
Meanwhile, Larry and Jade were getting settled at their table. Larry placed the flowers carefully beside him while Jade continued talking.
Their happiness was becoming an even bigger problem for Bethany because it directly contradicted the hopeful picture she had just painted for Charlotte.
Bethany Decides to Leave the Restaurant
Charlotte finally noticed how upset Bethany had become.
Bethany shook her head.
Charlotte tried to calm her down.
But Bethany had already reached her limit.
Charlotte looked at her sympathetically.
Bethany glanced toward Larry one more time. She could see him smiling at Jade, and the sight only made her more frustrated.
Charlotte sighed.
But Bethany wasn’t interested in hearing anything else. She grabbed her belongings and stood up from the table.
Charlotte looked up at her.
With that, Bethany walked away from the table, leaving Charlotte sitting behind.
What Happens When Larry Finds Out?
Charlotte watched her leave before turning her attention back toward Larry and Jade. She couldn’t help wondering how Larry would react if he discovered that Bethany had been watching him.
The situation had become particularly awkward because Bethany had just told Charlotte that Larry was finally changing. Yet, the moment she saw him with Jade, all that confidence disappeared.
As Bethany made her way out of the restaurant, her mind was filled with questions.
