The Story Begins

The atmosphere inside the podcast office was unusually tense that morning. Everyone seemed busy preparing for the upcoming episodes, discussing new ideas, and making plans for the show’s future. However, behind all the excitement, a serious disagreement was about to unfold between Amber and Wayne.

Amber had always considered herself an important part of the podcast. She had invested her time, energy, and creativity into helping the business grow. She believed that every major decision should involve the people who had worked hard to build the platform.

But when she discovered that Wayne had added Einstein and Danielle to the podcast without discussing it with her, she felt completely betrayed.

As Amber walked into the office, she noticed Wayne talking about the upcoming podcast plans. He seemed excited about bringing new personalities into the business. However, Amber wasn’t interested in celebrating anything.

Amber: “Wayne, can I talk to you for a minute?”
Wayne: “Sure, Amber. What’s going on?”

Amber took a deep breath before asking the question that had been bothering her.

Amber: “Is it true that you added Einstein and Danielle to the podcast?”
Wayne: “Yeah, that’s right. I thought it would be a good move for the show. We need fresh energy, different personalities, and more interesting conversations.”
Amber: “So you made that decision without talking to me?”

Wayne paused for a moment.

Wayne: “Amber, I didn’t think it was something that needed to become a big issue. It’s business. Sometimes decisions have to be made quickly.”
Amber: “That’s exactly the problem. You keep saying it’s business, but you forget that I’m part of this business too. I’ve worked hard to help build this podcast. How could you make such a major decision without even considering my opinion?”
Wayne: “Nobody is trying to replace you. I just thought bringing new people would help the podcast grow.”
Amber: “The point is respect. You didn’t even give me the opportunity to express how I felt about it. You just made the decision and expected everyone to accept it.”

For Amber, this wasn’t simply about Einstein and Danielle joining the podcast. It was about feeling ignored by someone she had trusted.

The Argument Gets Heated

Wayne noticed that Amber was becoming increasingly frustrated. He tried to explain that his decision was based on what he believed would benefit the business.

Wayne: “I’m looking at the bigger picture. The podcast needs to grow. Adding new people could bring more viewers, better conversations, and new opportunities.”
Amber: “Growing the podcast is one thing. Making decisions behind my back is something completely different. You could have called me or even asked for my opinion.”
Wayne: “You’re taking this too personally. Sometimes people have to make decisions that not everyone agrees with.”
Amber: “Too personally? This is my position, my work, and my reputation. You expect me to show up, do my job, support your decisions, and never question anything?”

Wayne sighed, realizing that Amber was much more upset than he had expected.

Wayne: “Nobody said your opinion doesn’t matter. You’re still important to this team.”
Amber: “If I’m so important, why wasn’t I included in the conversation?”

Wayne didn’t immediately have an answer. The silence between them made the situation even more uncomfortable.

Amber Makes a Shocking Decision

After several moments, Wayne finally admitted that perhaps he should have discussed the decision with Amber first. But by then, she had already reached a different conclusion.

Wayne: “Maybe I should have discussed it with you first, but I wasn’t trying to disrespect you.”
Amber: “You don’t seem to understand what you’ve done. You can’t expect people to feel valued when you exclude them from important decisions.”

Amber had spent enough time trying to prove that she deserved a voice in the business. She didn’t want to continue working in an environment where she constantly had to remind people of her value.

She reached inside her bag and slowly pulled out a sealed envelope. Wayne watched her carefully, wondering what she was about to do.

Wayne: “What’s that?”
Amber: “Something you need to read.”

Amber placed the envelope on the table. Wayne picked it up, looking confused.

Wayne: “What is this, Amber?”
Amber: “It’s my resignation letter.”

Wayne’s expression immediately changed. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Wayne: “Wait, what? You’re quitting?”
Amber: “Yes, Wayne. I’m done.”

Wayne opened the envelope and began reading the letter. As he realized that Amber was serious, his excitement about the podcast’s future suddenly disappeared.

Wayne: “Amber, hold on. You’re really going to walk away from everything because I added two people to the podcast?”
Amber: “No, Wayne. I’m walking away because of the way you’ve treated me. This situation has made me realize that the work I’ve put into this business doesn’t mean as much as I thought it did.”

Wayne Tries to Change Her Mind

Wayne put the letter down and tried to convince Amber to reconsider her decision. He knew that losing her could create serious problems for the podcast.

Wayne: “Look, I can talk to Einstein and Danielle. We can discuss everyone’s roles and work something out. But quitting isn’t the answer.”
Amber: “Why does my opinion suddenly matter now that I’m leaving? Where was this conversation before you made the decision?”

Wayne struggled to respond. He finally began to understand that this situation was much bigger than he had originally thought.

Wayne: “I honestly didn’t think you would react this way.”
Amber: “And that’s the problem, Wayne. You didn’t think about how this would affect me at all.”

Amber explained that she had no personal problem with Einstein or Danielle. Her frustration came from the fact that Wayne had made an important business decision without involving her.

Amber: “They can be talented, entertaining, and good for the podcast. But that doesn’t give you the right to make decisions without involving the people who helped build this platform.”

Wayne finally admitted that he could have handled the situation differently.

Wayne: “Maybe I should have spoken to you first. I was focused on getting the new plan together, and I didn’t stop to think about how leaving you out would make you feel.”
Amber: “At least now you’re acknowledging it. But I can’t keep putting myself in situations where I have to fight for basic respect.”

Amber Walks Away

Amber picked up her belongings and prepared to leave. Wayne watched her, hoping she would change her mind at the last moment.

Wayne: “So what happens now? Are you really leaving the team?”
Amber: “I’ve made my decision, Wayne. I hope the podcast succeeds, and I hope the new people bring something valuable to the table. But I need to work somewhere my voice is respected.”

Before walking away, Amber turned around one final time.

Amber: “Remember something, Wayne. Building a successful business isn’t just about bringing new people in or making big decisions. It’s also about respecting the people who were there when you were building it.”

Wayne nodded slowly. He watched Amber walk toward the door, leaving him standing in the office with her resignation letter in his hands.

For the first time, he seemed to understand that his decision had consequences he hadn’t considered. He had been so focused on expanding the podcast that he had overlooked the importance of communication and trust within his existing team.

What Happens Next?

Now Wayne has a difficult choice to make. Will he accept Amber’s resignation and move forward with Einstein and Danielle, or will he take responsibility for his mistake and do everything possible to bring her back?

Meanwhile, Amber is determined to stand by her decision. She has no intention of begging anyone to recognize her value. She believes that respect should be given without having to demand it.

But there is still one important question left unanswered: Is Amber truly finished with Wayne and the podcast, or is this resignation letter the wake-up call Wayne needs to finally understand how important she is?

One thing is certain: the podcast will never be the same after this confrontation. And if Wayne cannot repair the damage, he might discover that bringing new people into the business has cost him someone who was important to its success all along.
