Jnd ) BROOKE REJECTS BETHANY’S HELP — BUT A SHOCKING SECRET CHANGES EVERYTHING!
BROOKE REFUSES BETHANY’S HELP — SHE VOWS TO BUILD HER SUCCESS ALONE!
Brooke has reached a point in her life where she refuses to let anyone control her decisions, interfere with her career, or make her feel that her success depends on someone else’s approval. When Bethany’s support and involvement become an issue, Brooke makes her position crystal clear: she does not need Bethany’s help, encouragement, or assistance to achieve her dreams. She believes that everything she accomplishes should be the result of her own determination, intelligence, and hard work.
But Brooke’s frustration goes beyond simply rejecting Bethany’s support. She also wants Larry to understand that Bethany needs to stop involving herself in matters that have nothing to do with her. Brooke feels that Bethany’s interference is creating unnecessary tension and making an already challenging situation even more complicated. She wants to concentrate on her future without constantly having to explain her decisions or defend her ambitions.
What Brooke doesn’t realize, however, is that her firm decision to stand independently could trigger an unexpected confrontation that changes the way everyone sees the situation.
SCENE 1 — BROOKE MAKES HER POSITION CLEAR
INT. — OFFICE — DAY
The atmosphere inside the office is tense. Brooke stands with a determined expression, refusing to let the conversation turn into another argument about who should support her and who should stay away.
She has already made up her mind. She wants to build her career independently, and she is not interested in receiving help from someone who makes her feel that she cannot succeed without assistance.
BROOKE:
“Let me make something very clear. I don’t need Bethany’s support, and I certainly don’t need her help to become successful. I know what I’m capable of, and I’m perfectly confident in my ability to accomplish things on my own.”
Brooke pauses, looking directly at Larry.
BROOKE:
“Whatever I achieve in my life, I want to know that I earned it myself. I don’t want anyone taking credit for my accomplishments or making me feel like I owe them something because they decided to help me.”
Her voice becomes firmer.
BROOKE:
“I have my own goals, my own ambitions, and my own plans for the future. I don’t need someone standing beside me telling me what I should do or making decisions on my behalf.”
Larry listens carefully, realizing that Brooke is not simply expressing frustration. She is setting a boundary that she expects everyone to respect.
LARRY:
“I understand what you’re saying, Brooke. But I don’t think Bethany necessarily believes that you can’t succeed on your own. Maybe she thinks she’s trying to help you.”
Brooke shakes her head.
BROOKE:
“That’s exactly the problem, Larry. Everybody seems to think they know what’s best for me. I don’t need people constantly getting involved in my decisions. If I need advice, I’ll ask for it. But nobody should assume that I need their permission or assistance to move forward.”
SCENE 2 — BROOKE REFUSES TO DEPEND ON BETHANY
INT. — OFFICE CORRIDOR — CONTINUOUS
Brooke walks a few steps away before turning back toward Larry. Her frustration is becoming increasingly obvious.
She wants him to understand that this is not about pride alone. It is about having the freedom to make her own choices without feeling dependent on another person.
BROOKE:
“I’ve worked hard to get where I am. I have my own ideas, and I’m willing to put in whatever effort is necessary to achieve my goals. So why should I allow anyone to make me feel that I can’t do anything without their support?”
Larry remains quiet.
BROOKE:
“I don’t care whether Bethany supports me or not. If she wants to help somebody, that’s her decision. But she doesn’t have to make me the person who receives that help. I’m not asking her for anything.”
Her expression becomes more serious.
BROOKE:
“And I don’t want her thinking that I’m going to change my plans just because she doesn’t agree with them. My future belongs to me. I’ll decide what I want to do, and I’ll take responsibility for whatever happens.”
LARRY:
“Brooke, I think you should at least consider having a conversation with her. Maybe the two of you could clear up whatever misunderstanding has developed.”
Brooke immediately responds.
BROOKE:
“What is there to discuss? I’ve made my position clear. I don’t want her involved in my work, and I don’t want her interfering with my career. That’s all she needs to understand.”
SCENE 3 — BROOKE SENDS A MESSAGE TO BETHANY THROUGH LARRY
INT. — OFFICE — MOMENTS LATER
Larry tries to remain calm, hoping that Brooke will eventually reconsider her approach. However, Brooke has another message she wants him to deliver.
She takes a breath and looks directly at him.
BROOKE:
“Actually, Larry, there’s something else I want you to tell Bethany.”
LARRY:
“What is it?”
BROOKE:
“Tell her to mind her own business. She needs to stop involving herself in my work and stop creating unnecessary problems for me.”
Larry looks slightly uncomfortable.
LARRY:
“Are you sure you want me to say it exactly like that?”
BROOKE:
“Absolutely. I’m tired of having to repeat myself. She needs to understand that my career is not her responsibility. I don’t need her monitoring what I do, questioning my decisions, or interfering with things that have nothing to do with her.”
Brooke folds her arms.
BROOKE:
“If she has something important to take care of, she should concentrate on her own responsibilities. She shouldn’t waste her time trying to control what I’m doing.”
LARRY:
“I’ll talk to her, but I hope you understand that this could make things more difficult between you two.”
BROOKE:
“That’s not my concern anymore. I’ve tried making things clear, and if she still doesn’t understand, that’s her problem. I’m not going to keep changing the way I live just to make somebody else comfortable.”
SCENE 4 — LARRY REALIZES HOW SERIOUS BROOKE IS
INT. — OFFICE RECEPTION AREA — LATER
Larry looks at Brooke, trying to understand what has brought her to this point.
He knows that Bethany may not react positively when she hears the message. He also understands that Brooke is no longer willing to compromise when it comes to her independence.
LARRY:
“Brooke, you know that success isn’t always about doing everything alone. Sometimes having people around who genuinely want to help can make things easier.”
Brooke gives a small, frustrated smile.
BROOKE:
“I know that, Larry. I’m not saying that nobody should ever help anybody. I’m saying that I don’t want Bethany’s help. There’s a difference.”
She steps closer.
BROOKE:
“I want to succeed because of what I can do, not because somebody decided to make things easier for me. I want to look back at everything I’ve accomplished and know that I earned it through my own efforts.”
LARRY:
“But what if Bethany takes your words personally?”
BROOKE:
“Then she’ll have to deal with that. I’m not responsible for making everyone happy. Sometimes people need to hear the truth, even when they don’t like it.”
Larry slowly nods.
BROOKE:
“And please make sure she understands one more thing. I don’t want unnecessary conversations about my career. I don’t want arguments, interference, or anyone trying to make decisions for me. I have a future to build, and I’m going to focus on that.”
SCENE 5 — BETHANY HEARS ABOUT BROOKE’S DECISION
INT. — OFFICE — AFTERNOON
A little later, Larry approaches Bethany. She notices that he seems unusually serious.
BETHANY:
“Larry, is everything okay? You look like something is bothering you.”
LARRY:
“There’s something Brooke wanted me to tell you.”
Bethany raises her eyebrows.
BETHANY:
“What happened now?”
Larry hesitates before answering.
LARRY:
“Brooke says she doesn’t need your support or help to become successful. She wants to handle everything herself, and she doesn’t want you interfering with her work or career.”
Bethany looks surprised.
BETHANY:
“She said that?”
LARRY:
“Yes. She also asked me to tell you to mind your own business and stop getting involved in her affairs.”
Bethany’s expression changes. She clearly wasn’t expecting Brooke to be so direct.
BETHANY:
“I don’t understand why she thinks I’m trying to interfere with her life. Has she completely misunderstood my intentions?”
LARRY:
“She seems convinced that she can manage everything on her own. She doesn’t want anyone making her feel dependent on them.”
Bethany takes a moment to process his words.
BETHANY:
“I never said she couldn’t succeed without me. I don’t know where she’s getting that idea.”
SCENE 6 — BETHANY QUESTIONS BROOKE’S ATTITUDE
INT. — OFFICE LOUNGE — CONTINUOUS
Bethany walks toward a nearby table and sits down. She looks frustrated, but she is trying to understand why Brooke has reacted so strongly.
BETHANY:
“I don’t have a problem with Brooke wanting to be independent. If she wants to accomplish everything herself, that’s completely her choice. But why does she have to make it sound like I’m doing something wrong by offering support?”
Larry sits across from her.
LARRY:
“Maybe she feels that people are getting too involved in her decisions. She wants to be given the space to figure things out for herself.”
BETHANY:
“Then she could simply say that. There’s no reason to speak as if I’m trying to destroy her career.”
She shakes her head.
BETHANY:
“I have my own responsibilities, Larry. I’m not sitting around looking for ways to interfere with Brooke’s life. I don’t need to control her, and I certainly don’t need her approval to make my own decisions.”
Larry understands that Bethany is beginning to feel personally attacked.
LARRY:
“I think both of you need to understand where the other person is coming from.”
BETHANY:
“Maybe. But if Brooke wants nothing from me, I’ll respect that. She can do whatever she wants with her career. I just hope she understands that rejecting someone’s help doesn’t mean she has to treat them like an enemy.”
SCENE 7 — BROOKE STANDS FIRM
INT. — OFFICE — LATE AFTERNOON
Meanwhile, Brooke returns to her work. She opens her laptop and begins reviewing her plans for the coming weeks.
Despite the uncomfortable conversation, she appears more determined than ever.
Larry approaches her again.
LARRY:
“I spoke with Bethany. She knows how you feel.”
BROOKE:
“Good. Hopefully, now she’ll stop involving herself in my business.”
LARRY:
“She doesn’t seem to understand why you’re so upset. She says she was only trying to help.”
Brooke lets out a quiet sigh.
BROOKE:
“That’s fine. She can believe whatever she wants. But I don’t need her approval, Larry. I don’t need her support, and I don’t need her permission to pursue my dreams.”
She closes her laptop.
BROOKE:
“I’m going to prove that I can accomplish something meaningful without relying on anybody else. I want my success to speak for itself.”
LARRY:
“I hope things work out the way you want.”
BROOKE:
“They will. I’ve made up my mind, and I’m not going to let anybody distract me.”
For the first time during the conversation, Brooke looks completely at peace with her decision.
SCENE 8 — AN UNEXPECTED TURN OF EVENTS
INT. — OFFICE — EVENING
As the working day begins to come to an end, Brooke receives a notification on her phone.
She glances at the screen, expecting another ordinary message. But her expression suddenly changes.
The message appears to be connected to an important opportunity she has been waiting for.
She reads it again, her eyes widening.
BROOKE:
“Wait a minute… Is this really happening?”
Larry notices her reaction.
LARRY:
“What’s wrong? You look surprised.”
Brooke looks up, trying to hide her excitement.
BROOKE:
“I think something important just happened. It could be exactly the opportunity I’ve been working toward.”
LARRY:
“That’s great, Brooke. What does it say?”
Before she can explain, another notification appears.
This time, the message contains a request for
