SCENE 1 — AMBER RETURNS HOME

The late afternoon sun shines through the windows as Amber pulls into the driveway. She looks exhausted, but there is a small smile on her face.

For the first time in days, she feels like she has made the right decision. She had finally walked away from Anthony and decided to return to Dave.

AMBER

“I’m finally home.”

She takes a deep breath and looks toward the house. She believes Dave is still waiting for her.

But then she notices something that immediately changes her expression.

Omni’s car is parked directly in front of the house.

AMBER

“Why is Omni here?”

SCENE 2 — SOMETHING FEELS WRONG

Amber slowly enters the house. Everything is strangely quiet.

AMBER

“Dave?”

There is no answer. She checks the kitchen, the living room, and the hallway.

AMBER

“Omni?”

Still nothing.

Amber walks toward Dave’s bedroom. Her heartbeat becomes faster with every step.

The bedroom door is slightly open. She hears a quiet voice from inside.

Amber reaches for the doorknob. Her fingers begin to tremble.

AMBER

“Dave?”

No response.

Amber slowly opens the door.

SCENE 3 — THE SHOCK

Amber freezes in the doorway.

Dave and Omni are together inside the room, embracing each other, partially covered by the bedding.

Amber’s eyes widen. Her mouth opens, but no words come out.

Her bag slips from her hand and crashes onto the floor.

BANG.

Dave immediately looks toward the door. Omni turns around. Both of them freeze.

AMBER

“No…”

Amber takes a step backward. Tears begin filling her eyes.

DAVE

“Amber…”

AMBER

“Don’t.”

“Don’t say my name.”

SCENE 4 — AMBER REMEMBERS EVERYTHING

Amber turns away from them. Her mind flashes back to everything she had done earlier that day.

She had given Anthony everything back. She had walked away from him. She had chosen Dave.

She believed she was finally choosing the man she loved.

AMBER

“I gave everything away…”

DAVE

“Amber, listen to me.”

AMBER

“I gave Anthony everything. I walked away because I thought I was coming back to you.”

Her voice breaks.

AMBER

“I chose you.”

“And this is what I come home to?”

SCENE 5 — DAVE’S CONFESSION

DAVE

“Amber, I never planned for this to happen.”

AMBER

“But it did.”

DAVE

“Things changed.”

AMBER

“What changed?”

DAVE

“My feelings.”

Amber becomes completely still.

AMBER

“Your feelings?”

DAVE

“I tried to ignore them… but I couldn’t.”

AMBER

“So you love her?”

Dave remains silent.

His silence gives Amber the answer she was afraid to hear.

SCENE 6 — OMNI SPEAKS

OMNI

“Amber, I never wanted you to find out like this.”

AMBER

“How did you want me to find out?”

Omni looks down.

AMBER

“Did you both plan to keep this secret?”

OMNI

“We didn’t know what was going to happen.”

AMBER

“You were in my home.”

Amber looks at Dave.

AMBER

“In your room.”

Her voice becomes quieter.

AMBER

“And you were holding her like she was the only person in the world.”

SCENE 7 — AMBER WALKS AWAY

Amber picks up her bag and walks toward the door.

DAVE

“Amber, please.”

She stops but doesn’t turn around.

AMBER

“You know what I thought when I came home?”

AMBER

“I thought I had finally made the right choice.”

Amber turns around.

AMBER

“I thought after everything, I could still come back to you.”

DAVE

“Amber…”

AMBER

“Don’t ask me to stay.”

Amber opens the door.

“I didn’t realize my future had already chosen someone else.”

She walks outside. The door closes behind her.

SCENE 8 — THE DRIVE

Amber sits behind the steering wheel. She doesn’t start the car.

Tears fall down her face as she remembers everything.

AMBER

“What happened to us?”

Suddenly, her phone rings.

UNKNOWN NUMBER.

AMBER

“Hello?”

VOICE

“Amber, you need to come back.”

AMBER

“Who is this?”

The caller pauses.

VOICE

“You don’t know the whole truth about Dave and Omni.”

The call suddenly ends.

SCENE 9 — BACK INSIDE

Inside the house, Dave stands near the bedroom door. Omni looks at him.

OMNI

“Is she gone?”

DAVE

“Yes.”

OMNI

“Are you okay?”

Dave doesn’t answer.

OMNI

“You said you loved me.”

DAVE

“I do.”

Dave looks toward the front door.

DAVE

“But I never thought Amber would find out like this.”

OMNI

“Maybe this had to happen.”

Dave looks at her suspiciously.

DAVE

“What do you mean?”

SCENE 10 — THE SECRET

Outside, Amber is still sitting in her car.

She looks at the unknown number again.

Suddenly, another message appears.

“CHECK DAVE’S PHONE.”

Amber’s eyes widen.

Another message appears.

“BEFORE YOU LEAVE HIM FOREVER, FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE YOU CAME HOME.”

Amber looks toward Dave’s house.

Her pain is still there. But now something else has replaced it.

SUSPICION.

Amber starts the car. She drives away.

But this time, she isn’t running from Dave.

SHE IS GOING TO FIND THE TRUTH.

Because if someone is telling the truth, then the moment Amber witnessed between Dave and Omni may not be the real betrayal.

And Amber has no idea that the next secret she discovers could change everything she believes about Dave, Omni, and even Anthony.
