The Moment the Door Opened

The heavy doors of the police station finally opened, and Destiny slowly stepped outside. For a few seconds, she simply stood there, almost unable to believe what had happened. She had spent hours inside answering questions about a situation she never expected to become part of.

Now, there were no handcuffs around her wrists. No officer was holding her back. No interrogation room was waiting for her. She was finally free to walk away.

Tears continued rolling down Destiny’s cheeks. Her eyes were red and slightly swollen from crying, and her face showed just how emotionally exhausting the entire experience had been.
