SCENE 1 — THE NEWS THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

The afternoon seemed completely ordinary outside Shayla’s house.

The neighborhood was quiet, with only the distant sound of passing cars breaking the silence.

Shayla stood near the front of her house, checking something on her phone.

She had no idea that within minutes, a simple conversation would turn into one of the most explosive confrontations of her life.

A car slowly pulled up nearby.

Dinisha stepped out.

She was smiling.

There was something different about her today.

She looked happier than usual, almost as if she were carrying a secret she could no longer keep to herself.

Dinisha spotted Shayla and immediately walked toward her.

DINISHA

Shayla!

Shayla looked up.

SHAYLA

Dinisha? What are you doing here?

Dinisha smiled and moved closer.

DINISHA

I came because I had to tell you something.

Shayla raised an eyebrow.

SHAYLA

Something good?

Dinisha nodded excitedly.

DINISHA

Very good.

She took a breath, trying to contain her excitement.

DINISHA

Anthony is taking me on a trip.

Shayla’s expression remained neutral.

SHAYLA

A trip?

DINISHA

Yes. Just the two of us.

Dinisha’s smile became even wider.

DINISHA

And I think there’s something else planned.

Shayla looked at her carefully.

SHAYLA

What do you mean?

Dinisha lowered her voice as if she were revealing something special.

DINISHA

Anthony is planning to propose to me.

Silence.

For a moment, Shayla didn’t react.

Her eyes stayed fixed on Dinisha.

Dinisha didn’t notice the sudden change in her expression.

DINISHA

He wants to do it during the trip. Somewhere romantic. He said he wants the whole moment to be special.

Dinisha laughed softly.

DINISHA

Can you believe it? I never thought Anthony would actually do something like this.

But Shayla wasn’t smiling.

Her face had completely changed.

The happiness in Dinisha’s voice seemed to make her anger grow.

SCENE 2 — THE JEALOUSY

Shayla slowly put her phone away.

SHAYLA

Anthony is proposing to you?

Dinisha finally noticed her tone.

DINISHA

Yes.

SHAYLA

And you’re happy about that?

Dinisha looked confused.

DINISHA

Of course I’m happy. Why wouldn’t I be?

Shayla stepped closer.

SHAYLA

Because maybe you knew exactly what you were doing.

Dinisha’s smile disappeared.

DINISHA

What is that supposed to mean?

SHAYLA

Don’t act like you don’t understand.

DINISHA

Shayla, Anthony made this decision. I didn’t force him to do anything.

Shayla laughed bitterly.

SHAYLA

So now you’re telling me this just happened?

DINISHA

That’s exactly what I’m telling you.

SHAYLA

You expect me to believe that?

Dinisha took a small step backward.

DINISHA

I’m not trying to fight with you.

SHAYLA

But you’re standing here telling me Anthony is going to propose to you.

DINISHA

Because I thought you were my friend.

Those words made Shayla even angrier.

SHAYLA

Your friend?

She stared directly at Dinisha.

SHAYLA

Then maybe you should have thought about how I would feel before celebrating this in front of me.

Dinisha’s expression softened.

DINISHA

Shayla, I didn’t know you felt this way.

SHAYLA

You didn’t know?

Shayla’s voice rose.

SHAYLA

Everybody knew except me!

SCENE 3 — THE CONFRONTATION

Dinisha tried to remain calm.

DINISHA

Please listen to me. There is nothing going on behind your back.

SHAYLA

Stop lying!

DINISHA

I’m not lying.

SHAYLA

Then tell me why Anthony suddenly wants to marry you.

Dinisha hesitated.

DINISHA

Because he loves me.

Shayla froze.

The answer cut deeper than Dinisha expected.

Shayla’s eyes filled with anger.

SHAYLA

Say that again.

Dinisha realized she had made things worse.

DINISHA

I didn’t mean—

SHAYLA

Say it!

Dinisha shook her head.

DINISHA

Shayla, please calm down.

SHAYLA

You think you’ve won, don’t you?

DINISHA

Won what?

SHAYLA

Anthony.

Dinisha looked shocked.

DINISHA

Anthony isn’t something anyone wins.

Shayla moved closer.

SHAYLA

You don’t understand what you’ve done.

DINISHA

Dinisha stared at her.

Shayla’s anger finally boiled over.

Before Dinisha could finish another sentence, Shayla suddenly struck her.

Dinisha stumbled backward in shock.

SCENE 4 — THE FIGHT

DINISHA

Shayla!

Dinisha raised her hands defensively.

DINISHA

Stop! What are you doing?

Shayla moved toward her again.

SHAYLA

You should have never come here!

Dinisha tried to move away.

DINISHA

I came here to talk to you!

SHAYLA

I don’t want to hear another word!

Shayla attacked again.

Dinisha struggled to protect herself.

DINISHA

Please stop!

She backed toward the side of the house.

DINISHA

I’m not your enemy!

Shayla was too angry to listen.

SHAYLA

You became my enemy the moment Anthony chose you!

Dinisha’s eyes filled with fear.

DINISHA

Anthony made his own choice!

Shayla suddenly stopped.

For a second, there was complete silence.

Dinisha looked at her, breathing heavily.

DINISHA

You can’t blame me for his feelings.

Shayla stared at her.

SHAYLA

Maybe I can’t.

A pause.

SHAYLA

But I can blame you for being here.

Dinisha slowly lowered her hands.

DINISHA

What do you want from me?

Shayla didn’t answer.

SCENE 5 — THE SECRET

Dinisha looked toward the road.

DINISHA

I’m leaving.

She turned to walk away.

Shayla’s voice stopped her.

SHAYLA

Wait.

Dinisha turned around.

SHAYLA

There’s something you don’t know.

Dinisha frowned.

DINISHA

What?

Shayla stared at her for several seconds.

SHAYLA

Anthony never told you the whole truth.

Dinisha’s expression changed.

DINISHA

What are you talking about?

SHAYLA

Ask him why he suddenly planned this trip.

DINISHA

I don’t understand.

SHAYLA

You will.

Dinisha stepped closer.

DINISHA

Shayla shook her head.

SHAYLA

DINISHA

Because Anthony needs to be the one to tell you.

Dinisha’s phone suddenly began ringing.

She looked at the screen.

Anthony.

Her heart immediately started beating faster.

She answered.

DINISHA

Anthony?

There was silence on the other end.

DINISHA

Hello?

Shayla watched her carefully.

Dinisha’s expression slowly changed from confusion to fear.

DINISHA

What happened?

She listened.

DINISHA

No… you didn’t tell me that.

Shayla’s eyes narrowed.

Dinisha looked toward her.

DINISHA

Anthony, where are you?

Another long pause.

DINISHA

Wait… you’re saying the trip is canceled?

Shayla’s expression suddenly changed.

DINISHA

Why?

Her face became pale.

DINISHA

Anthony, what are you talking about?

The call ended.

Dinisha slowly lowered the phone.

SHAYLA

What did he say?

Dinisha didn’t answer.

SHAYLA

Dinisha.

Dinisha finally looked at her.

DINISHA

He said he can’t take me on the trip.

SHAYLA

Why?

Dinisha swallowed hard.

DINISHA

He said something happened.

SHAYLA

What happened?

Dinisha stared at her phone.

DINISHA

He wouldn’t tell me.

SCENE 7 — THE MESSAGE

Suddenly, Dinisha received a text message.

She opened it.

Her eyes widened.

Shayla noticed immediately.

SHAYLA

What is it?

Dinisha didn’t respond.

SHAYLA

Show me.

Dinisha slowly turned the phone toward herself.

There was a message from an unknown number.

“DON’T GO ON THAT TRIP. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO ANTHONY REALLY IS.”

Dinisha’s hands began to shake.

Shayla read the message.

For the first time, the anger between them disappeared.

Both women looked at each other.

DINISHA

Who sent this?

Shayla shook her head.

SHAYLA

I don’t know.

Another message arrived.

This one contained a photograph.

Dinisha opened it.

Her face immediately went pale.

DINISHA

No…

Shayla stepped closer.

SHAYLA

What is that?

Dinisha stared at the photograph, unable to speak.

SHAYLA

Dinisha, what do you see?

Dinisha finally looked at Shayla.

DINISHA

That’s Anthony.

Shayla looked at the picture.

Anthony was standing somewhere unfamiliar.

But he wasn’t alone.

There was another woman standing beside him.

And the photograph appeared to have been taken very recently.

Dinisha’s breathing became unsteady.

DINISHA

Who is she?

Before Shayla could answer, another message appeared.

“ASK ANTHONY WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE HE MET YOU.”

Dinisha stared at the screen.

Shayla looked at her.

Neither woman spoke.

SCENE 8 — THE KNOCK AT THE DOOR

Suddenly, a loud knock came from Shayla’s front door.

Both women froze.

Another knock.

This time, harder.

Shayla slowly walked toward the door.

Dinisha remained behind her.

DINISHA

Don’t open it.

Shayla stopped.

SHAYLA

Why?

Dinisha pointed toward the phone.

A new message had appeared.

“HE’S THERE.”

Shayla’s face went pale.

Another knock echoed through the house.

Shayla slowly reached for the door.

Dinisha grabbed her arm.

DINISHA

Shayla… don’t.

They stood completely still.

Then a man’s voice came from outside.

UNKNOWN MAN

Shayla… I know you’re both inside.

Dinisha looked at Shayla in fear.

Shayla whispered:

SHAYLA

Who is that?

Dinisha shook her head.

DINISHA

I don’t know.

The man knocked again.

UNKNOWN MAN

You need to hear the truth about Anthony.

Dinisha’s eyes widened.

The camera slowly moves toward the closed door.

Neither woman knows who is standing outside…
